Demo bindings vs. regular bindings

what are some of the pros and cons of these... like weight, adjustability, durability, i unno tell me

A demo binding only has extra adjustment range in the heel. A rental binding has a movable toe also.

They bindings are a lot heavier, like 500 grams per binding heavier. You get the adjustability though, if you need it. If you're even considering it, make sure they are brand new bindings.

I LOVE demo bindings. I have them on my fuji's and STL's. They may position my goot alittle higher of the ski, but it's no different then a riser plate. It only takes like 10 seconds to change, so whenever I go into the park, I just move them to center.

depending on the binding. the demo version can be a lot safer and better then the retail version. The weight realy isnt that much of a factor. But the main reason ud have one is the ease of changing which is key

I only know about Salomon demos, but just barely heavier than the normals ones. The toe is the same, but it sits on a sliding plastic track. The heel is just a long track with a lever instead of the metal tab.

If anybody wants demo bindings. Send me a pair of 912's and I'll mount them on demo tracks and send them back for a few bucks. Or I can take a flat out 912 for 912 demo trade. I prefer the non-demo version because it doesn't have the added lift.

hahah.

demo bindings are good for demo skis.
but if you buy a pair of skis with demo bindings..lock them up. its not hard to ski away on a pair of nicee looking skis with demo bindings...

MOST demo bindings only weigh a few grams more than regular bindings! "OMG! DEMOS ARE LIKE CINDERBLOCKS ON MY SKIS!" not really. Comparatively, the s912 ti regular is 990 grams and the demo s912 ti is 1000. Whoa! 10 grams!!!...

Okay, sarcasm aside. Most demo bindings nowadays don't weigh much more. The benefits of a demo binding are obvious. The downside is the usually the connection. Let's face it, if a binding can slide forward and backwards on both the toe and heelpiece than the connection isn't that solid. So, if you are heavier skier who goes big, you have a good chance of breaking a demo binding. However, if you weigh less than 150 lbs, why not use a demo binding? You aren't going to break it unless you are hitting a 90 foot table and bail, and then the bindings are the least of your worry...

Bingo...demos aren't bad by any means, but they definately lack in the retention area.

hahaha yea race stock is where its at,  alltho i have yet to find a burly enough ski for me to put on my rossi axle 185's. Its a good thing im not a mortl tho, a binding that powerful was never ment for mortals hands

i ment a pair that i actually intend on buying. I did put one of the pairs of 185's on my 198cm volants. Now those are a burly ski

if u have demo bindings someone can steal your skiis and use them in the same day because they can just adjust them...only downfall....and theyre heavier too...
