Best Outerwear Companys!!???

What in everyones opionion is the best or you favor the most?? I want to plan for next year haha. Whats a good company that makes sick baggy stuff? Like pimp all white suits. I wanna look around for next season so I have an idea of what im getting into.

I will go out on a limb, and say Arcteryx. In all honestly, most of the stuff coming out of newschool companies is no better than 15,000mm waterproof. Arcteryx has been making hardcore outerwear forever, and is still made in canada (most everything else, with the exception of Crowe, is made in a sweatshop with people who couldn't really care less about skiing). Arcteryx has stylish(to me) stuff that will not let you down, no matter the conditions.

Crowe apparal, also canada based and manufactured, makes some very sick and fairly waterproof pieces as well.

Style is important, but on a pow day with wet flakes puking down, I would much rather be warm and dry than stylish and soaked to the skin.

burton makes some stylish shit. i love the cargo pants i have right now. warm as fuck, and they keep me perfectly dry. i just got a new orage jacket aswell, and i have to say, its better than anything i've ever worn. insanely warm, stylish as hell, waterproofed to the max.. what more could you ask for?

Dude.....all companies are corporations.....do you honestly think Oakley started as a "soul" company. If so, then you don't know your shit because Oakley started out making Bike Handles for BMX bikes. Now tell me, what the fuck does that have to do with skiing.

And kids are allowed to do what they want, are you their dad, no. You just have to ride by them, or show them up on the hill. BTW i had some Oakley pants, and I LOVED THEM. Insulated, fleece knees and butt, comfy, and awsome looking.

dude your being an idiot. Anybody can wear anything they want. I look at the Siver stuff, and it is SHIT. The water proofing, the down fill. Everything. Look at companies like Helly Hansen ( God forbid they make stuff Snowboarders, if you don't snowboard and put that jacket on you ARMS MIGHT EXPLOAD HAHAHA). 30 000 mm waterproofing, laser welded seams, water proof zips. Gore-tex, Thinsulate insulation. This shit is the tits, but are they CORE. No. Fuck they are the main outerwear company for world Sailing races. Oakley is awsome because they have all those features too. The money goes where the money goes, but i am not going to freeze my ass off just to fell like i supported newschool skiing.

There are a lot of of pretty sick companies right now. Price can be pretty bad, though.

Right now, in my mind the best clothing is getting made by Norrona.

These guys are fucking sick as hell.  They are Scandinavian and make clothing for lots of NATO Special Forces.

just some examples.  There clothing is very technical and expensive, but quality if fucking awesome.  eventually I want to get a full XCR and full soft-shell set up.

^Im not a fan of that stuff but it looks tech for sure. I have been skiing for 15 years and on prolbye 95 percent of days a light jacket and hoody underneath is fine to ski in. SO im guna go for something with style.. as long as its not fish nets.

a lot of the technical aspect of ski wear depends on where you ski.

Skiing in CO for 15 years was fine with 10,000mm waterproofing and such because it is so dry there.

Now in the PNW I personally wouldn't want anything less than 20,000mm and currently use a jacket that is 28,000mm.

NAd to him that said that stylie clothes are bad on wet days is a fool.
I rode my "super-stylish" Saga outerwear today when it was deep water pits everywhere (summerski) and the water spashed all over everyone. But...It kept me dry and warm.

Yeah, like 30 cm deep rivers all over the slope. Bad winter here you know. Plus it was on a glacier.

And to iggyskier, Norrøna is a norwegian brand. Scandinavia also includes Sweden, Denmark and Finland if you didn't know.

Norway is in Scandinavia. So I was right by saying the clothing is from Scandinacia.  I do know what countries are in Scandinavia, as well.  I wanted to focus more on the clothing, not where they came from.

walmart or tj max, im serious, tj max 30 dollar xxl pants, 60 dollar xxl jackets, then use the extra 300 bucks you have to go somewhere and ski, 300 dollars is a lot of gas money

Well, If you refer(sp?) to Norrøna. I've tried on their Lofoten pant, park/freeride pant in XXL, nd it was quite baggy. I'm 6 feet if it helps.

yeah, just order it big and it will be baggy. Im sure the jacket in hose pics is a M or L.

they fit a little tighter than most stuff, so just size up.

aight i understand that a lot of companys out there have there hand in other sports and industries, but i guess what i've been trying to say this whole time, i now realize that ive been getting my point across in a wrong way, but what im trying to say is that the image oakley is giving skiing is one i personaly think is lame.

sure oakleys been there for a long time and for a while there i was a huge fan of oakley, not because of quality but of how it looked and how pep fujas, boyd easly, tanner hall, jon olsson, and a lot of others looked so dope in their shit. But if you go back to like 00' 01' or 02' oakleys shit was just plain colors that looked sick as hell. Now that skiing has gone "queer-eye-for-the-straight-guy" filled with flamboyant colors, i've lost respect for oakely.

Another issue i've had with oakley is how they dont respect "non-rockstar" athletes. i know a guy who is the sickest fucking skiier around. 360'ed a double stage drop that was about 40 ft. He talked to oakley about a little sponsorship and they straight up turned him down. He said the attitude was like if he wasnt a house-hold name, oakely didnt want him. This guy later went on to be sponsored by giro, hestra, volkl, technica, marker, and smith. Nice choice oakley

see...now that makes sence. If you don't agree with the flashy shit, and the way they treat their people, now that i can agree with. But you have to say that from the start. I agree with that statement. I love all of the old oakley stuff. But i look at companies like Saga, and Orage, Sessions, and that is good shit.
