Defenitely Baker. Especially the backcountry. Was anyone there when that snowboarder went off the cliff trying to impress his girlfriend and then fell all the way down screaming, and landed in the powder?

There's only two reasons to download in January
1- you're fucking beat after ripping up the steepest, sickest, inbounds terrain in North America.
2- you just don't wanna bother with the volunteer speed patrol and crowds of idiot american tourists.

I have to say Kicking Horse beats Whistler for the steepest and sickest inbounds terrain. But I've had more fun at whistler cause its dumped every time I've been there.

Never been to whistler yet, so my vote goes to the wasatche resorts.

the best skiing in the world is alta. terrain, snow frequency, snow density, weather, backcountry. it doesnt get any better. anywhere. but please dont come.

omg dude i was there around xmas time i have never seen so many moronic crowds in the narrowest of paths leading to the base u really cant go even somewhat fast becuz u will nail some moron in there unpredicatble path. that got annoying. also who likes waking up and lookin at snow in the morning ...versus rain?

i was there between xmas and new years and it was the most crowded resort i have ever seen. it seemed like coverage was shitty too and i scrapped some rocks but i didnt know the terrain but it still turned me off cuz i came from park city which seemed to have much better coverage.

u r wrong. alta is dope, especially with snow frequency and density. But... alta is not steep whatsoever besides the very top of baldy, and parts of eagle's nest. also, there are a ton of flat light days. even bc access isnt that great besides wolvy and rocky (gotta love a-frame). also, be extremely careful claiming the best in the WORLD. there are alot of mountains out there. europe lacks the tree skiing, buts thats about it.
to top things off, every skier is different, therefore certain criteria is more important to some than others. there wont be a concensus for this thread of the best resort.
steeps=jackson
snow=alta/grand targhee
park=mammoth, pc
crowds=solitude
bc access=jackson
weather=cali/co
travel ease=cottonwoods
area(amount of terrain)=whistler
stoke factor=squallywood/jackson
the pac. northwest, and sierras can get the most snow, but it's heavy, and seasons are inconsistent.
done and done.
