Im pretty much in the same boat as you, in state is cheaper and SUNY schools arnt half bad.
Im looking into SUNY albany, its 1 of the 4 SUNY universties and its location is pretty good id say; right next to vermont, 2 hours from NYC, 2 hours from boston, about 2 and a half from montreal, and of course only 2 hours from my house. I also looked into buffalo which is massive beyond my comprehension and geneseo which is basicly a highschool size. Albany also offers a shit load of areas of study if you are undecided still.
my sister is gunna be in her first year ar sunny purchase this year she said he campus is really nice and its only like an hour and a half from jersey but she is gunna live there
2 1/2 hours-3 hours from Burlington depending on traffic in Ticonderoga.
Look at Cortland if you have any desire to teach, especially phys ed. I got accepted once before and will probably end up going there next year. It's a good school, there's an Arby's in town, close to Syracuse, close to Greek Peak.
Im at plattsbugh right now. Im a freshman and so far i like it. its not far at all from the border and its about a half an hour to whiteface and not that much further to the northern Vt mtns. I guess the buisness departnment here is wicked good i dont know though i didnt look into it at all
potsdam is up near titus and i guess tremblant if you want a drive,
but Albany has a D1 lacrosse team and it's a huge school, business, premed.
Syracuse has OCC which is the holy grail of community colleges haha,
There is also Suny Upstate Medical where i go up on the SU hill,
we have Lab, Song, And Tog.
I'm applied to suny oneonta they have a good business program. Its near the applilatians so its about a 20 to 30 min ride to like 3 or 4 places the only one i can think of right now is hunter oh yea and windham
i went to geneseo.... not bad at all, its got an awesome rep for being the best of the suny school education wise. it is really small but the town is great, bristol is close (like 30-45 min away) and holiday valley isnt a horrible drive either....plus like 7 bars within walking distance of the school
