This thread is so depressing. Urban everyday? I got into CU, but I couldn't go there since it was so expensive for out of state. I'm lucky if I find one other serious skier at Georgia tech, where Im going.

actually, my cousin went to georgia tech and he found a couple guys that had the interest/means to go on ski trips all over, he said the scene isn't poppin obviously but there are skiers around.



Oh yeah, and I'll be at CU-Boulder and I'm definitely looking for people to ride with, PM me or somethin.

Who's gonna be at orientation on the 22nd of august?/??

I'm a sophmore. You'll be too hungover to do urbans every day. Do NOT join the freestyle club unless you like paying to not get coached at winter park all winter. Just find people who have cars and you're straight.
I don't really need people to ski with but u can ask me questions i guess

Do you have a car there? I dont think I'm bringing my truck, so I don't know how I'm going to get to the mountain.

What is the freestyle club? I don't want to get coached at all really, I just want to be able to get to the hill a lot.

You'll need a car because all the good ski areas are about 1-1 1/2 hours away. The only thing close is eldora, and it's pretty much not worth going.

^ exactly why CU sucks my sweaty ballsack. that and the fact that the freeski scene there sucks. its all about the scene, not even the skiing, anymore. hows those 500 kids to 1 teacher classes.....hows the overpriced weed.....hows all those nasty gross ass pro hoes working for ya, you got some serious herps yet? cuz ya will!

he's got a point. CU is all about the scene. It's really not that close the resorts compared to many other colleges and kids play it off like it's the place to be. It does have alot of legit parties I'll give it that and there are a lot of dumb sluts look'n fer the dick too. But if your top priority is skiing and gas is over $3.00 a gallon next year enjoy the road trips to and from CU just to go skiing, cause your gonna need a bottomless bank account and a nice hybrid to foot the bill.

^yeah that's a pretty good description. boulder is like aspen and san francisco combined. it's the only place i've ever been where it feels like there's pressure to be laid back.

^^^^^ok???? but we do have some of the best terrain parks in the country in our proximity. BRECK? copper, keystone, and aspen is a short drive for the x-games. And the scene is huge, but a big scene brings big tallent.

yeah but who cares about just park besides 12 year olds who cant do anything but park oh wait i mean EAST COAST kids....no one man. theres crap for decent out of park skiing near CU, with the small exception for A Basin (its waaaay too small) and Loveland (you gotta hike!).

hey listen CU BOULDER CLASS OF 2010, first off, "STFU" brah....and i wasnt going to rip on this until i saw it, but who puts down the year (four years before it happens) the year theyre going to graduate from college? how sure are you that everything is going to go your way? are you sure youll get all the classes you need, including the senior level ones that only come around like once every two years? are you sure you wont get kicked out? or switch colleges? or drop out and beomce a ski bum?

thats a pretty big claim man, lets see how well you stick to it. but thats cool, you go to CU and then you discover how much it really sucks balls and then youll shut up.

So what is a good alternative? Wasted State? Fort Loser? You "owned" who? I go to argueably the best business school between Missouri and California (excluding Texas). You have no justification for the statement that you made, and the concerns that you listed are true at any college, and 95% of the people who live in Boulder absolutely love it. Outside magazine just named Boulder as the best outdoor town in the US.

Oh, and there are some "scene" skiers here in Boulder, but there are also some hardcore crews around here. We hike for turns, we camp in snowcaves, and we rip big mountain lines.

Now kindly go fuck yourself.

I said argueably. You can argue that DU or CU has a better business school. There is no better business school in Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Nebraska, or Montana. CU Leeds is for sure one of the two best business schools in the rocky mountain region.

i would love to see some proof of this claim. They just release the top 50 in businessweek magazine and CU was not in there. After that no one really cares where they are. Therefore I find it a little rediculous to say your school is soo much better than any school in the states you listed. I for one no that UNR in nevada has a good business school with a strong reputation. I'm glad you didn't put california on the list. Atleast you know better than that.

First of all, did I say that we were so much better? UNR might have a good program, but CU does have a stronger reputation in the business world, especially in the rocky mountain region.

Two University of Colorado at Boulder undergraduate specialty programs were ranked in the top dozen American public universities in U.S. News & World Report's annual undergraduate rankings.

The Leeds School of Business undergraduate entrepreneurship program was tied for sixth in the nation with the University of Maryland-College Park among public universities offering doctorates and tied for 12th among all public and private doctoral universities.

CU-Boulder's undergraduate program in aerospace engineering was ranked 12th among public universities offering doctoral degrees and 17th among both public and private doctoral universities.

CU-Boulder's overall undergraduate engineering program was tied for 18th with four other schools among public universities offering doctoral degrees and tied for 33rd among public and private doctoral universities.

The undergraduate program at the Leeds School of Business tied for 25th with four other public universities offering doctorates and tied for 41st in both public and private doctoral universities. The undergraduate business programs at Colorado State University and Denver University's Daniels Business College were tied for 87th with 15 other schools in the public and private ranking for doctoral universities.

Overall, CU-Boulder was ranked in a tie for 32nd among all public national universities offering doctorates in the annual ranking. Other schools tied for 32nd were Clemson University, State University of New York-Binghamton, the University of California-Santa Cruz and Virginia Tech. Colorado State University was tied for 56th.

Engineering and business were the only academic programs ranked by U.S. News and World Report in the 2005 Best Colleges Edition. Criteria used by the magazine in the annual undergraduate rankings include retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performance and the alumni-giving rate.
