ok, i just got acrillyic stuff for the top of my box but how should i mount it without cracking ti or damaging it?

predrill holes in it for screws. if you wanna be extra careful countersink the holes so the screws will go in level with the box

take a small peace of it and put a screw threw it and if it cracks then super glue it...like alot of glue. but if it holds then give it a shot

definatly make sure you holes are counter sinked, otherwise it will crack and the screw will probably tear outta the wood. Be patient when pre-drilling the holes because it does take up the majority of your time (our bit was a wee bit dull)

you attach a bit into a screw gun that pre drills a hole so your screws can easily set into the wood and remain flush (without the stress of just using screws without pre-drilled holes)

you put one of these {img]http://www.bencere.co.uk/images/bensink.jpg[/img] in a drill, to drill a hole the size of the screw head so it will sit lower than the top of your plexyglass.

step by step:
1. Decide on size screws.
2.Find a regular drill bit that will drill the diameter of the screw
3. Drill your holes
4. using the countersinking bit that you go out and buy, drill the top of each of the holes just enough that the head of the screw will be lower than the top of your plexy, but not too much because then they just rip through.
5. pray for a freak snow storm in july.

thank you for the help.
i did u se the searchbar and couldnt find anything for the specific thing i needed. i dont know if theres a big difference between acrillic and anything else that can be used for the top of a box
