i found that the more air the better. you have more time to get your rotation, and spot your landing. so the easiest way is to line upto a booter about 50 feet or more, charge it, huck it, and stomp it. its easy.
Going for a 50 footer probably isn't a good idea if you are more scared than unskilled.
Stand
with your ski boots on. Just jump and do a 360. Was it easy? Keep your
head and shoulders level if you felt unstable - don't look down.
Stretch out your arms if you feel more comfortable that way, who cares
how it looks.
Put on your skis. On flat ground, jump and spin just like before. Try it moving forwards on an easy run, try falling just to see that it doesn't hurt much. Once you aren't scared, it will come easily.
You just got to use your head. Your body goes where the head leads. If you keep missing that last 90......or little degrees, just turn your feet quick at the last min. Like a late 180.
ur prolly gonna need to do it off the biggest jump u can find
then when ur in the air throw your left arm toward your right hip, your right arm over your shoulder, your head back and tilted to the right, while your doing this kick your left foot back and forth as fast as you can....oh yeah, and dont forget to scream.
yesss. a 3 over a 50 foot table is easier than a 3 over a 5 foot table, and its more fun and just all around better! its more scary at first, but it takes less than half as much work.
I kinda want to agree, but not every beginner will be comfortable with rocketing at a 50 foot kicker with enough speed to clear it if they havent hit any jumps.
Like, if I were to try something new NOW i'd definitely want a big ass kicker to throw it off of, but I'd say that when I first learned threes, it was over like 25-30 foot tables, not 50-55 footers.
Just stay really relaxed, get your mind sorted out first.
Think, "I'm gonna just do it this time and it'll be easy".
Get a bit of speed on a medium sized jump so that you have plenty of time in the air. Take a reasonably wide stance and at the lip, bring your opposing arm (e.g. right arm for left spin) Across your body to rotate your shoulders and look round in the direction of the spin until you see your landing. Dont jerk it, just dead relaxed. Watch CR Johnson's arms when he does his backcountry 3s.
