Boulder Ski Deals, Christy's, or any other corporation around Boulder hire people but do massive layoffs in the spring. Everyone knows Jibij is the sweetest shop around though.
2) best skiing all around thats the closest and easiest to get to
Anywhere in Summit (1.5 hours). Eldora if you're desperate (half hour).
3) how bad is williams village?
It's pretty far. Enjoy riding the bus.

i lived in will vill last fall and it aint all that bad. in my opinion the worst part was the food. the bus really isnt as bad as people make it out to be. bring a skateboard with you and ride the bus TO classes and skate back cause it is all downhill. the plus about will vill is there are tons of kids.

Yea the food is pretty bad, you'll get sick of it by the end. Will vill has the newest rooms (and I think the biggest), but it can be a bitch to go too and from willvill. I've slept through a lot of morning classes because of that. It's not too bad if you have a bike/board, but the bus can be slow (especially when it snows). It's also like 3 blocks from the boulder skate park, which is really sick.
As far a skiing goes I wouldn't waste your time going to eldora. It's like 20 minutes away, but there's really nothing there to make it worth your time. You can make it up to summit county in 1-1:30 depending on traffic, and all the big resorts are there. Boulder also has a lot of handrails, but watch out for the cu police if you go that route.

well, ive been at boarding school for the past four years, and the food was pretty bad there, so im hoping it'll be a step up no matter what...
so eldorra is poop?

Eldora is what I imagine skiing in the midwest would be like, but with more snow.
However I've had fun afternoons there as a season pass for students is 100 bucks. They have a pretty bad park but its enjoyable occasionly and the mt can be fun to explore.
They had a ski patrol hut that you could hit as a wall ride 2 years ago

im a freshman as well and i signed up for the dorms about a month late, so i was religated to williams village too. thats sick its 3 blocks from the skatepark. i dig skating in the summer.
i have another question though, and that is, what about season passes? should i go for the vail resorts? or the winter park/mary jane pass?
i was at breck for spring break and its was so crowded. but it had a dope park but no big mountain/backcountry. what is the best resort in your opinion. i love to rip everywhere (cliffs and bowls are very neccesary) and have a decent park to play in the spring.

i say get the copper /winter park pass and in the spring get the a basin pass for like 140.

Deffinitly the vail resorts. you got breck, i mean c'mon. and will vill is super sick. you'll meet a lot of kids and you still have the oppertunity to meet kids who live on campus from class and shit. Dont worry, freshman year is a huge blast. you wont leave disappointed.

Winter Park is going to rival Breck next year for the sickest park in CO, plus the scene of kids is a lot more chill and laid back. The pass is also a grip cheaper, and in my opinion, WP is the place to be

If you have the cash get both(colorad and copper/wp). The combo is not that expensive when compared to passes in other states ie any resort in tahoe. If I had to chose one I would get the colorado pass.

okay, this might have been answered already, but what resorts does the colorado pass give us?

colorado pass is keystone, breck,a basin and like 15 days at vail and beaver creek. seeing how keystone sucks cock and i doubt you will ski a basin except in the spring the super pass is much better. copper and wp are sweet.

you guys are forgetting about echo mtn. park too, which is about half the drive as to all the other resorts, granted its ONLY park, but if you wanna get out after class for a few hours and ride some park its your best bet for sure

keystone sucks cock?!? yeah right, keystone is the shit... they got tons of rails that def beat brecks rails and their main jump line is so fun. a basin is also key for early season seeing as last year they were open at the same time as copper and a month before breck and keystone. then, of course, you can't beat brecks pipe and jumps any where in colorado.

i skied thier park once. here was my expierience. and seeing as how im a big mountain skier i dont judge mountains by thier park. the walk from the parking lot to the fucking gondola sucks ass. but they park was okay. i mean i wasent really into it.i hate the fucking feel of the whole mountain, dont listen to me though. go find out for yourself. they have the best mt biking in summit but other then that its a worthless mt imo

i thought keystone had a sick park...at least thats what they make it look like in the media....goo adverstising i guess

so keystone sucks b/c you didn't like having to walk through the village to get to the gondola? do you prefer the shuttle system at breckenridge or the walk from the winter park main base parking lots? it's not like i love keystone or anything. i just think your justifications for saying it sucks ass are somewhat misguided.

of first all at mary jane the walk to mountain is 50 feet. and thats above all the lifts so you can ski down. 2nd i dont ski breck and third. if you work at copper you can park close as shit which is nice. or if you have a nice friend he or she can drop you off like 10 feet away from the flyer which is the park lift.

in my post i said the main parking lots at winter park, not mary jane. mary jane is flippin' sweet and it is too bad it's connected to the rest of winter park. and most of us here don't work at copper. and skier drop off is lame. walking wont kill ya.

i gurantee your skis are lighter then mine. and i also gurantee your a lot bulkier then me.

^^ dude who cares how heavy your skis are, thats not always something to brag about, and if you're that core of a 'big mtn skier' to have such burly skis you wouldnt mind walking through the village at keystone and you probably wouldnt be on NS talking shit cause you'd be too busy skiing wherever theres snow right now.
keystones park IN MY OPINION was sick this year because they had alot of variety, their park crew was always working, they have a dedicated park lift, the park always had something new and different practically by the week, the attitude was usually laid back, they played good music that was loud, and i heard before last season they got a couple park guys from breck to switch to keystone, hence why it was always laid out so well.
you two homo's can PM each other if you wanna keep the bitching going stop wasting peoples time with it in a thread.

ok, eldora is horrible, if you like to ski with old people and ride slow chairs while riding double blacks that should be blues, its the place for you
second, the sickest park around/ mountian in genral is breck. winter park still isnt even close. when it is the time of year that all the pros are in colorado( name drop time: candide, tj schiller, henrik winsted, grete, heck tuffelmire rides there and hes sponsored by copper), where are they? not copper, not vail, not winter park. breck. if you can find any major flaws in freeway, be shure to let me know. ill talk to the park crew so they and i can have a good laugh at you. as far as big mountian goes, the end on peak 7 and lake chutes on peak 8 are amazing runs and usualy dont get skied out to quick cause to get to them you have to traverse or hike a bit, but with the new chair, it makes things much easier.
lastly. keystones park while some of you may say its good, im my oppinion it is lacking. they dont rake at all during the day, they suck at cutting a pipe, and their jumps are 2 close. the only good features they had last year were the 2 jumps up on the side of the hill there, they were bueno.
i got a super pass last year and used it 5 times when i skied 64 or so days last season. the other advantage to having the buddy/ colorado pass. i reccomend buddy is that in the summer you get half off of tickets for biking at keystone and breck. i dont think the super pass does anything for you, not to mention you can ski at a basin till june 4th usualy. if you are still here.

Yeah I would def. agree that the Colorado Pass is superior...........
Copper is a beat mountain, I'm sorry if you disagree with me but it's the truth. By far the worst lines in Colorado and it just isn't that fun.
Vail is the best all around mountain and on a pow day kicks Wp's ass.
Yeah Mary Jane can be fun but it's quite repetitive as nearly every run is the same, and Intrawest is exploiting it.
Ski patrol in toafers, vasquez getting a lift, my opinion WP is heading downhill.
Breck is the most underrated mt. in Colorado, it holds powder very well, has the best park as already stated and confirmed and is a jibbers best friend

not the truth at ALL. coppers park is sweet. the back bowls are sweet and it has great variety

i heard getting a job at the stores is kinda hard without a lot of eperience but if you have bike and ski tech experience they really like that
like before wp is the best with bumps, keystone/brecks parks are pretty good, eldora is an afternoon or half day skiiing thing (cost is 120 per season), and vail's bowls are amazing... if you have the money get all three... it will be worth it

you really can't go wrong either way with the passes. you probably get better skiing overall with the colorado pass, but at $165 (with the buyonegetone wells fargo deal) the superpass is a steal.
colorado pass:
keystone - pretty good park and good tree skiing
breck - park to die for (jackshit else though)
a-basin - fun laid back mountain with super long season
vail - huge and fun
beaver creek - good trees that none of the uber rich people ski in
superpass:
winter park/mary jane - bomb ass trees, shorter lift lines, most lap-able park EVER
copper - ummmm......mediocre everything except on a pow day.

colorado pass is a no brainer, and the echo pass is cool cause you can shoot out there for a couple hours after class without having to go up into the mountains really

i have to combat all the negativity about copper
keystone=gappers, and 95% beginner terrain. but they have a good park
breck=good park but as said above shitty everything else
vail=great
abasin=garbage
copper=most well rounded mt in summit
wp/mary jane= 3rd best area in colorado behind crested butte and aspen. so much shit to do here. so get the super pass.or try the colorado pass fo ra year learn from expierience and get the super pass for the 08 season

umm basically you have to maintain a 2.0 gpa... if you are below that you have one semester to boost it back up before they suspend you for a year... unless you take the next semester off and then you have a year to boost it back up

How can you have this boner for Copper? It sucks, like all around sucks. If you were an actual big mountain skier you wouldn't be in summit county skiing at the resorts.
