But wouldn't you rather have the game go on and not have the ref call diving? Sure it'll punish those who are, but I think both teams would agree that the flow of the game would be best to keep instead.
Not when players actually benefit from faking injury, especially when it could determines the outcome of a match. If the ref doesn't catch it during the run of play, the Federations should fine the player after the fact. This really needs to stop and Fifa isn’t helping by ignoring it. Those morons would rather have fines and cards issued for trivial crap instead of actually improving the performance on the field. Its pathetic.
True, but there's no way of challenging a call like in American football. In the game of Portugal and France, the ref. just ignored the dives, which is just as good as punishing the acting. Even if they did punish all those for acting, there will still be missed calls, diving and bad calls (such as carding someone for a dive when they didn't).
I agree, the diving in soccer is really one of the sport's worst aspects. But I feel like if some players don't do it they may feel like they're hurting their team. They really need FIFA to step in a get tougher on the feild. But I mean it's not stopping me from watching all 64 games of the World Cup.
What i hate about soccer is that every 5 minutes someone falls down, then puts on an expression of completely agony, much like a mother giving birth. He screams and hollers, then 30 seconds later stands up and acts like nothing happend. If you take a stinger to the ankel or knee that isnt putting you out of the game dont act like you just lost your leg, get up and walk it off. It makes everyone seem like such pussies. Other than that yea the diving is bullshit, but i still love watching the games.
I don't understand people who say soccer isn't gay. I've seen about a thousand pictures of soccer players squeezing each other's balls or have each other's faces in each other's crotches. When do they actually do something manley like score a goal or bench-press a zebra???
I wanan find that video of the "Italian soccer practice" where the coach blows his whistle and the whole team hits the ground screaming "ref!" Ronaldo has mad skills, but he needs to sack up. He's a sally. Look at guys like Terry or Hargreaves or something, they get tackled, but they get up and keeping playing.
well football is full of hillbillies and baseball is tight (i haven't touched a bat in years though) and hockey is gay cause every hockey player I've met except for one has been a total asshole.
did i ever say anything about not liking baseball..baseball is acually my favorite sport .im just kinda sick of it cause i just got my schedule for the next 15 days and i have 17 games
True, although soccer it is most apparent and dramatic. Some teams *cough*Italy*cough*Portugal*cough do it more then others and yes I do agree it kills the game and I myself would not do it. Although if you were in a position where there is 10 seconds left in the game...you get the ball in the box and have no way of passing it or moving with it cuz there is so many defenders on you...wouldnt you try to draw a penalty if one defender lays his foot or hand on you? I wouldnt do it cuz its not worth the risk of getting booked but other players might.
its becasue portugal knew that they couldnt actually score on the french so they tried to ham it out so they got a penalty kick or got one of the frnech a red card....if it went down to panalty kicks portugal would of won.....but yeh portugal was a disgrace to futeball in that game.
its so gay when they take dives. thats why college soccer is better. they dont fall down and cry like little babies. fuckin pussies. i love soccer but that just pisses me off
from the referees vantage point (yes i am a soccer referee) it is so hard to tell sometimes if there actually is a foul or if its a dive. i mean you get screened by players and there could be contact where you arent looking so from that stand point its really tough. then add in the speed of which these players are competeing and i do not envy the referees at all in making these calls. they have a tough job to say the least.
dont get me wrong ive done plenty of high level games such as mens leagues, spanish leagues, and ODP tournaments (you know what it is if youre involved in the sport) but the technical skill and soccer smarts of these athletes is the greatest of any level. i just ask that you look at calls from a referees vantage point and what he may have seen the next time you watch a game.
i agree, i played soccer for about 8 years and it helps so much if players don't dive. i think refs should definitely start giving out yellow cards for obvious dives.
most professional soccer players are teh biggest ACTORS i have ever seen.. i have never seen such pussys at some points.. oo oo someone tapped my shin so im going to go down holding my head to try to get a penetaly.. o hey look it worked.. okay coach im fine to play now... AHH fucking actors
