i'm going to put some rails in my backyard, i have $2000 to spend. i know welders, and knoww how to put in pvc rails, what's the best surface to slide on metal or otherwise, and, if u know, how much is it

whatever you do - DON'T use aluminum. that shit sucks ass - too soft, your edges will dig into it. just use steal or something and if you know a welder than go talk to him for prices (bring some designs with you so he can get a good estimate).

if u know guys who work at metal shops just ask them what kind of steel is best for grinding u can't go wrong seeing as how they're the ones who work with metal as a job

ha i build a rail (dubble bar besause my yard is mostly flat the i spent 0 dollers on it because my dad works for yard metels and i had all the wood in my basement (for the frame)

but you should just buy a sick s rail or somthing from d railed

ya man don't use aluminum, I tried that this year and my edges caught and I fell on my ass. if wherever you live has one, go to a steel recyclying place and they'll have all kinds of nutty shit that isn't very expensive. I can't weld so I can't make kinked or curved rails but I made a shotgun out of two 12 foot long steel pipes for about 50$ Canadian.

go to www.spcskateparks.com and call their number or e-mail them. They have a part of their skate park devoted to making rails. They have like a 25 ft flat down flat rail that's like thigh high for about 220 bucks. and all rails there are between 200 and 300 whether its a huuuge trapazoid or an a rail or whatever you want. They all come with stands already on them and everything. dont go to welder shop cuz they don't exactly know what your doing and don't have toom uch experience building rails. spcskateparks does it for a living and its professional. So try it out. they're coo.

damn! with that kinda dough, build a rail out of steel, but coat it in gold, then drive around town with the rail made of gold, bragging to everyone. then when someone says,'hey, are you just going to brag about that, or actually jib it?' then you'll say, you moron! what kind of idiot would grind a gold rail?!? then the whole town could laugh at that kid for thinking you should grind a golden rail... or you could just build a really big rail out of just steel.

^I didn't read the whole thing but the gold plated rail thing would be sweet! MSP or PBP anyone with the money should totally do it for a movie, that would be awesome. Kinda like Reedy's bike in strike 3 only better.

You should buy and old VW hippie van and paint it all trippy colored and put a rail on top and 2 banked C-boxes on the top edges of the van. that would be soo sweet.
