New Ipod Nano and ITunes

Ive had an Ipod 20gig for 2 years.  Last week my mom won an ipod nano in a raffle.  when i plug the new ipod into my pc it starts to charge but itunes doesnt recognize that it is plugged in.  Is there a setting i have to change or something?

just try unpluging it then pluging it back in

you may have to go into control pannel and try to find it as a removable drive. If you can do that you can re-format or upgrade the ipod soft wear so that the new itunes can recognise it

you have to install that "iPod" cd agian. then it asks for serial number and shit.

if you have windows xp with multiple user names try making sure everyone else is logged out except for the user that your gonna use itunes through. that always is whats up with mine, i plug it in and it wont recognize sometimes if other users are logged on still.

If you open itunes does it see the ipod as a playlist or something like that?

try resetting it by pressing and holding the middle botton and play
