I Need Help with my New Hookah

me and my friends just got a new 4 hose 32 inch egyptian hookah. the problem is, it doesnt hit very well. i cant tell what the problem is. it came with a metal tray to set the coal on, so my first guess is the coal wasnt close enough to the shisha to get it burning, so i tried poking holes in some foil so i could bend it in and get it close, but that didnt help. we were only using 2 hoses, with rubber plugs in the other holes for the 2 other hoses. we made sure that the hose not being hit was capped, but we found that if we both hit at the same time we could get better hits some of the time. im talking really little hits too, not just sub par of some picky asshole. is there anything i could be doing wrong? the only defect i could notice was that 2 of the holes on the bottom of the clay bowl that channel the smoke into the chamber run together to make one larger hole, but that cant make that much of a difference and is just proof that it is a handcrafted bowl. what should i do? and suggestions would be well appreciated. thanks guys.

i honestly don't know what is wrong with your hookah. all i can say is that in the future... keep it simple. you dont need more than one hose.

yeah i thought that right after it didnt work well. i thought it would be cool since me and my 3 friends hang out religiously when im home and wed all have our own hose and wouldnt have to pass while playing tiger woods. i regret my decision, but i still wanna fix it if i can.

my buddy got a three hoser and i found that it didn't work as well. it does look wicked tho. have you had a hookah before?

just start with one hose and seal the other 3 until it starts milking also u might have a weird bowl at the bottom, expirament with different water levels. or just ripp a j, its a lot better.

Make sure that the coal is hot enough. We use one quite regularly, and basically it's not going to pull well until the coal is white and totally hot (what we've found). Also, check all the connections, make sure theyre tight, and for good measure, any hose that isnt being hit, cap it with your finger. It just seals the whole thing up a little more and allows more air to be pulled through where it's supposed to be pulled from (smoke) and not pulled in from the other hoses.

Make sure everything is tight with those little rubber pieces and shit, repack the bowl too. If you're just not getting enough smoke push down on the coal and make sure it's fully lit

pack the bowl tight. use foil to set the coal on instead of the metal piece of shit that usually comes with the pipe. poke a good amount of holes with a toothpick in the foil. usually the more the merrier. don't have the foil go straight across the bowl, instead push it down so it's touching the shisha. make sure the coal is red-hot all the way through. self-lighting coals blow. 4 hose hookahs also blow.

STep 1: Put shisha hunk on top of bowl after fill hookah up with water and assembling.

Step 2: tightly pack aluminum foil around top and poke 6-8 holes in to top with a knife, or whatevers sharp, and makem a cm long.

Step 3: Light coal and place on top of foil

step 4: inhale smoke through windpipe and into lungs for a satisfying and refreshing taste.

I'd suggest checking all the connections. Make sure there are rubber fittings or o-rings to seal all the connections

I cant speak for multiple hose-hookahs(argili's if u want to be a dick about it) but all i can say is to make sure you're not packing the bowl too tight. And i might be crazy, but it seems to me that different flavors hit differently. We have tried many different flavors and it always seems that mint hits the best.

my cousin and i just built a 4 hose hookah out of an old lamp and a vase we bought at a craft store. it works perfectly....try different amounts of water in the bottom, make sure it's airtight - you can do this by covering the other three hoses and making the water bubble by just sucking on one hose. if you can't do that, there is no seal. also, make sure the release valve is closed. only open it if the smoke gets too harsh.

no offense, but smoking a hookah isn't nearly as bad for you as you think.  all of the smoke is filtered through the water, and a majority of the hit is just water vapor.  not to mention shisha is like 30% tobacco 70% flavoring.  so unless you smoke hookah 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, you pretty much shouldnt have anything to worry about.  however, it does pretty much come down to not being an idiot, in which case maybe you guys should keep telling everyone on this website not to smoke hookah.

thanks for all the help, im gunna reseal everything with vaseline, and as for water, we filled so the stem goes about an inch into the water, im thinkin we should use more, since its a 32 inch high hookah. and yea erich, if u wanna see it or use it u can come over any time man.
