yo man that'd be cool and all, but its the middle of summer, I'd be pumped to get a 10 foot flat bar. And speed is gonna be super hard to get with the summer set up, and gaps are tough cuz you can't make really strong lips that you can pop off without crushing them. Some tall rails would definately be nice though. somethin like wawa's flat up flat would be pretty fun I think and super easy to set up.
Yeah, but if I've learned anything from the Heavenly railjams, you gotta have either a big gap on or a big drop off or the number of tricks are limited and people start to get frustrated.
I was thinking if we have a flat-up-flat maybe put it as a down flat down street style? Then we could get super creative and crazy with disasters and what not.
hahaha soo true. They couldn't care less about some stupid skiers wanting to put ice in the commons when they have to deal with a death on their shoulders.
living on the north end, i think it would be dope if we had it at liek a park on the ocean, say in manchester, or beverly. it would be sick to have an ocean as a backdrop, and it would be slightly cooler
actually if boston denies it we should try to find some place like on the north shore or somethin to do it. the common would be pretty epic though my fingers are still crossed.
Burlington VT anyone, so many jams go down in the summer here!!! but not this year...plus its right in the middle of boston and maine.....perfect for everyone!
beverly cove anyone? lynch park is right there, and im guessing theres some big hills in there, could be sick. but getting snow there would be hard, but it would be easier to get it passed than boston
Hey, another question. Is this an "expert" rail jam, or is it also for novices or begginers. I can grind a flat and a kink rail and pretty much any box. Would there be stuff for me in this comp or would I always end up fallin on my ass?
yes what sugarloaf said, i live in cohasset. that would be prime. but thats not happening so boston is still good if the city will recognize that there are a lot of people waiting to hear from them
alright you guys, so we didn't get the permit but it turned out a lot better then expected.
many of you have probably heard of the TD Banknorth Garden.. used to be known as the Fleet Center. well, one of their head honchos was down in the mayors office chillin with our friend John Bailey. john mentioned to him that we had kept calling all month to see if we got this permit or not and we really wanted a mid-summer ski comp to go down in boston. the guy from the garden, being a hardcore skier and all, thought that would be a great event, so he wants to host one INSIDE the garden. basically, he was thinking to setup a big air, inside. he figured what else is sicker then a big air? nevermind a little rail jam.
so we're thinking it's going to happen around early august, seeing that we need to get all of this setup. bp, jedis.say.jea., and i are heading into boston tomorrow to meet with him. we'll keep you updated as this comes along, but it should be pretty fuckin epic.
wow thats rediculous. in a good way. so this probabaly isnt gonna be much of a beginner/intermediate contest. and are snowboarders in it? good work to all who coordinated this event
