Pick My Skis

I've given up trying to decide what skis to get, so I'm letting NS decide. Basically, whatever ski gets the most 'votes' is the ski I buy. I'm also looking for binding suggestions. Heres what you need to know:

I'm 6', 150lbs. I ski mostly park and pipe. I do assloads of rails. I have also been know to attempt to jib other objects, usually ones that are not very nice to skis. I do ski other parts of the mountain besided the park. I am looking for a set up that is very durable. I want something to perform well on ice, as well as softer snow. I also want a solid binding option. I do not want to buy Line anything. Call me stupid, but whatever I get isnt going to say Line on it.

Just go ahead and tell me what you think would be a good option, why, how to mount it and what with. Any suggestions are great.

well I was gonna say chronic because they are pretty bombproof, light, and stiff so they can handle some ice... but if you're gonna be picky I'd vote '07 public enemies (if they actually changed the topsheet material, I have no idea whats goin on with that) althought they might be a little heavy if you do mostly rails. If you can find it in yourself to be open minded I would say chronics. or mojo 80?

I am obsessed with the Ninthward Butterlicous. They say their all mountain skis. Soft in the front for Butters and hard in the back for stomping big hits. Their $450 on www.jibij.com. Im definately getting them. Thats my best bet.

this isnt based on just owning a pair, ive skied most '07 park skis, and my favorites for what you say are rossignol scatch fs because of how the perform on jumps, i wasnt too fond of them in the pipe, but they are a durable ski and ride quite nicely. Or dynastar trouble makers, which perform vey well in the park, and excel in pipe. quite durable too.

oh and a px12/scratch 120 would do nicely. probably 2-3cm back from center on either. ignore the mounting lines on skis

Does anybody know if they have fixed the topsheet on the 07 PEs? Also, what about bindings, I dont have many suggestions on those yet.

Trouble makers are super fun and good all mountain, but not as durable as the public enemies.

If you're going to go crazy on your skis, public enemies are your best bet for not breaking them.

It's not that I'm going huge and shit, I just like to attempt to jib unfriendly objects. I'm not going amazingly huge or putting a lot of stress on the ski, its more the edges and base that I'm worried about from rails/logs/dirt.

I get PE a lot, are they a stiffer ski? And I still want to know about the topsheet if anybody knows yet. I wont be buying until probably Spetember, but I want to know now so I know how much money I need to set aside before I worry about car insurance. Skiing always comes first.

PE's are a good option, as well as the karma and scratch, and definately dont get the 185 karma's or any ski over 180 cm's for that matter. you dont weigh enough to muscle those big sticks. get look/rossi bindings.

PEs if you like a little bit of a stiffer, wider ski (85mm) or silencers if you want something a little softer and narrower(80mm). the silencer is the same shape as the old PE, so they're still solid all mtn, seem just as durable as the PEs and come in at 299, so you cant go wrong.

If I were to get PEs, would the 179 be too much ski for me? Keep in mind I'm still growing, more out than up.

179 would be fine, they are really stable, I found them to be stiff at first but they soften up and they are a little bit heavy. They can stand up to basically anything, and from past experience I had some scratchs and some of last years AR5's and they were destroyed compared to my publics. Hopefully they topsheets are fixed.

The new PE still has a p-tex topsheet but it feels a LOT harder than the old ones - shouldn't ship as much. PE or Karma would be your best choices I think. Have a look at Sprayer BCs too, but I don't know what the flex is like on those.

Mount 2cm back of true centre unless you ski a lot of powder, in that case go 4cm back. PX12 would be a good binding choice, or a Rossi 155 if you want them bombproof, those would look sick on the new Karma too.
