im just trying to figure out the best way to fix up dents and holes and stuff.
does epoxy work fine?
my friends dad dropped his board in their basement and got a nice hole on the top/side of his board, and we are trying to fix it by ourselves rather than paying 60 bucks at the shop

Some epoxy works great, and a shop visit is always clutch everynow and then. Getting your blanks soaking wet and saturated leads to nothing but weight gain and trouble.
If you're ut on the surf and get dings and cuts, and it's just too good to do a quick beach-side repair, rubbing wax on it to hopefully block to the end of the day sure works.

go to your local surf shop and get a ding repair kit. they are around $15 and they can be used to fix many dings. if your board is glassed, get a glass kit. if your board is epoxy, get an epoxy kit.

for a quick fix.. rub some wax over the ding and it should keep the water out for the rest of the session, or at least better then not having it there at all..
