Will anybody else side with me on this and say that the beatles are the greatest band ever..they have a song for every 1 of my moods.my itunes library ranges from the beatles to journy to sizzla to jaylib and all the way back to peter frampton and i can say that the beatles are the greatest..to find some stuff that almost matches the beatles amazing music and legacy i have to go to either jimi hendrix or bob marley
Beatles are one of the greatest, but not THE greatest. There is no single greatest band. The best of the best would have to be Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Queen, and the Who. Very different, all great.
i agree that there really can't be THE greatest bands, because the variety of genres are so great. but the beatles are verrrrrrrrrry great, i love them.
It's easier to say that they are one of the greatest, people will agree with that but to The Greatest will just make more arguments because no ones opinion is the same.
The beatles were amazing musicians and composers, I mean just take into account what they went through for 'Strawberry Feilds'...
Originally they did at least thirty takes of this song live in a studio, each one slightly different and using some of the most revolutionary composition techniques, including an early keyboard that they had to record individual sounds to each key, and of course an Indian musician and his sitar...
Of the thirty or so takes, they merged two halves of completely different takes together, however the first half was in a flat, and the second half was in b flat. Luckily, the first half was slower than the second, so when they sped it up it essentially went into b flat, however if you listen to about a minute through the song, you can hear about a microtone difference between the two bars and this signifies where the merge occured.
I know that Ringo's drum parts were perfect for the music they played, but godam I wish Pete Best didn't leave the band; he was such a better drummer than Ringo.
i thought this was kind of funny. when john lennon was asked what it was like playing with the best rock and roll drummer, he replied "he's not even the best drummer in the band". referring to paul
i would agree in the fact that they revolutionized music. although there may artists who have put out better music, noone has changed music the way the beetles have. that is whats important
Beatles are freken awesome. Definitely one of the best bands of all time, and that most of their songs were written while super high just makes em cooler. go listen to i am the walrus for those fo you who havent. aand let it be is probably my alltime favorite song.
yeah, Josh explained that whole thing about the 2 combined versions of strawberry fields forever to all of us in the seminar room 8th period once. The Beatles were geniuses, probably greatest band ever.
well, first off good bands are like beauty, in the eye of the beholder. but ur right, most, not all, music these days is pretty shitty. this is because theyre in it for the money, alot of people dont know good music when they hear it, and people like what the media tells them to like, cuz they cant fuckin decide for themselves.
also, yeah there is no greatest band plain and simple. well tecnically there is, because greatest is based off of the largest amount of listeners/fans/record sales, and im not sure who holds that title, might be the beatles, might not. so i guess there is a greatest, but not best. i'll stop now.
