You are going to see an explosion of tiwn tips on the slopes and on groomers...tons of newcommers and average people are gonna be riding twins...everyones gonna have one, or get one pair before the seasons over...i even hear that people are learning to ski on them...so thats definitely what your going to see next year...no doubt about it...

Definitely more fat skis, even older people are starting to transition.
Probably more skis in the Bandit B3 vein of a wider do-it-all ski.
But yeah, maybe not symmetrical or true twins but most people will be on twin tips.

ya ive seen a few old ppl with fatskis and they said they love them and would never go back and like on the chair old ppl always ask about our skis there like what brand are those how do u like them and all that shit

coming from an instructors POV starting on twin tips is stupid. the construction of the average twin tip is designed for a level 7 and up skier not a begginer.

How does the level system work??
Whenever I am not on a park chair, I always have older and younger skiers inquiring about twin tips and good companies and models.
It's hard to direct them to Ninthward, because it's a hard to find and relatively expensive company, so I usually say Line, K2, or Rossignol.

I skied Line darksides for 2 years (not a true twin) then got Volkyl Karmas last year. HOLY COW... I bought them for our western trips and it ended up being my every day ski. I still pull out the SL and GS skis for fun groomer days.
I believe that twins gained a larger market share of the skis sold last season. I too predict that they will continue gain an increased market share. An untapped market is us old people. I watched other racing parents looking at me enviously as I was skiing backwards away from race fences. It won't surprise me to see them on twins next season.

i've seen a 90 year old man on salomon guns. twins are being skied by all ages but directional skis are still better at going down the mountain

I think it'll start the year after. Our mountain is only getting it's first park comp. next year for skiing so after that, I think more people will join in. It's going to happen no doubt.

This is from Ski Area Magazine.
As has been the case for the past few years, Alpine ski sales have been trending toward integrated systems. Alpine skis, excluding integrated systems, fell 14 percent while integrated systems jumped 31 percent. Twin-tip ski sales continue to grow, up 26 percent in dollars to $7.9 million. However, junior ski sales declined 15 percent. For junior products overall, only shell tops increased, up a whopping 50 percent.

Shut up dumbass, even though you probably think you are "too cool" for a rating system doesn't meant that his post wasn't valid, and very true.
