racers are gay cause they think the are better than evryone.

man im a racer, this will be my last year but i do it to ski all the time cuz thats what i love to do, i hate all the richfuckers who think there the shit at racing and think its a big deal, my friends and i smoke weed and drank all the time, we dont care about racing we just like chillin and skiing alot, plus we go to different hills so i always hit up there parks its nice to ski alot, but im hopin cuz our hill knows me now(since i race) of when i quit of setting up some freestyle lessons (when i get my freestlecoachin or w.e it is) with my friends and we could bring more kids to our hill and maybe make our park more skier oriented

I was a racer, my parents put me in ski racing when i was young and i stuck with it for a long time. All the while when i was ski racing i kept my twin-tips close at hand and now a days now that i'm done racing i can thank my parents for allowing me to learn how to ski. I see the park rats in the park everyday slidin' their shit skis without edges around, pants at their ankles and i'm almost embarrased. That's not skiing.. it's basically gymnastics on snow but put an x-racer on skis they can basically do anything. (for example: seth morrison, vincent dorion, shane mckonkey.)

when it comes to this topic I get quite confused. I raced until 2 years ago, then I started skiing park last season. There is a difference beetween racers who have always raced, and enjoy it, and thats what they want to do, and skiers like big mountain guys, AND OTHERS who have quit out of it because they did NOT like its pressures, and other things involved with the sport.
Most racers are not stuck up prepps that have lots of money because there parents are rich. But many are, and I find them very dislicable and unapreciative. However.... It is not just rich unapreciative racers that gets me annoyed, its also rich unapreciative freeskiers that get whatever they want without a thought about the stuff their getting. BUT NOW, this comes into another topic of "posers".
My feelings abot racers is that I don't like the ones that are above a certain age, or have a stuck up rich attitude. Most skiers on this site probably raced before they started freeskiing. I'm guessing the average age they switched is roughly 14, or 15. I respect racers under that age, I dont respect them if they are snobby however. Racers above that age I respect if I know them, know they are not snobby, and if they can respect park skiers without saying all the things the kid said a couple posts above me about wearing pants around ur ass not being skiing.

i raced until i was 14... it taught me how to ski, but im glad i stopped and went full time freeride. kids who only race dont end up liking skiing at the end of highschool. i went to a ski academy and this was the case.

jon olsen used to race fis, jp auclair used to race and so did alot of pros, and as for mogul racing sarah burke tanner hall mike douglas along with tones of pros used to race, but they all suck so what do i know racing doesnt make u a better skier

people hate on racers so much, and most of the time they don't know shit about it. I raced PNSA and FIS for 12 years, so im sure im gonna get hated on, but who cares, growing up racing makes you so much better of a skier in general. I dont know a single person i raced with that hated on park skier, or anyone for that matter other then dumb-asses that duck ropes and almost kill us

I have mad respect for people throwin down in any aspect of the sport, if your a bumper/racer/big mountain/park, it doesn't matter....its all skiing. Oh well i guess im a stuck up bitch that has my parents buy me everything, since i raced right?

ur deffinately not gunna get hated on for racing, about 7 people mention racing and they didn't get hated on, people judge the hate on racers way to much, most of the time they deserve the hate to.

not true at all man, my friend posted an edit of mea nd him in it and we said we race and we go to the park all the time and this is what we did this year and about 5 kids added me on msn to make fun of me, do i care?no but still ppl should stop steriotyping racers or park rats or bigmountain skiers

i dont hate all racers, just most of em, cuz i know some from when i used to race. It just seems to me like most of them are hella cocky even though 90% of them cant freeride for shit. Like this one time i wuz just doin 3's and 5's for fun off this one natural jump under the chair, i just decide to get as much speed as i can and go balls out, i overrotate and crash and a buncha them in slalom gear start sayin i suck when i could pwn them anywhere xept the course. it wuz kinda funny though cuz then they all go off the jump hella slow and flail on a 1ft straight air.
