no poles: to make a shitty day fun or to just mix it up. Also to work on balance and body control in the park.
poles: stay for comps and reg skiing park and all mtn.

Definitely, it's way fun to mix up your shit with no poles. Grabs can get very creative.
Some grabs I've found with no poles I know am using with poles and it is really comfortable.
