poles. always. i used to ski with no poles when i was a little kid because at that stage they were just getting in the way, but then i got to be decent so i started to use poles.

one pole skiing is much more practical and stylish. within a few years undoubtedly someone will develop a can to replace ski poles all together, and you will all look foolish with TWO canes...

jea poles fer me but when i am making fun of gpers i ditch em. i dunno it just makes you look smoother and can be used to help you land shit if you know what ole plants are. hmmm... what about one pole like fireunderwater said. it might be dope, its prolly gay; ill try it once.

I use poles but I learned to ski no poles and didn't start using poles until maybe 3-4 years ago (im 17). Poles definately are sick, but no poles runs once in a while are fun.

a lot of people put in here that no poles is fun. im not saying it looks better or worse. but isn't skiing supposed to be about fun. so if you people say it's fun you shouldn't rag on people that don't have poles and call them un stezzy cuz a lot of them you can put poles in their hands and they look the same as you they are just trying to make their time skiing a little more fun.
im not just saying this because i don't use poles 90% of the time.
there is no cooler feeling to me then being able to wrap your whole hand around your ski and being able to feel it in that part where your poles usually occupy. you can't tell me that doesn't feel sweet.

Usually I'd rock poles 85% of the time, but now plan on a dead even 50-50 split. Never got to fully expierence the joy of 50-50 split last season getting hurt so early.

well.. i think there are more advantages to no poles over having poles.
advantages include
one less thing to carry
one less thing to buy
one less thing to break
one less thing to remember
it looks good sometimes if done right
ur hands are free to grab stuff all the time
u dont have to worry about taking a pole to the face
there wont be anything to get in your way or tangled up
disadvantages are
hard to skate and get speed fast
looks bad in some cases
