tippman 98 is not worth it. i'd say save up for a new gun. also paintballing gets really expensive.

i played paint ball for a good 2 years straight and in my experiance, barrels that have matching threads for tippmans cost more money then its worth. it would make more sense for him to purchas a more versital gun. if he ever wanted to play speed ball he would regret having a 98. im just trying to help him out.

brad I'd agree with you that speedball is where it's at, I was on a team till my emag got stolen *sniffle*, but some people are just into recreational playin in the woods and shit and for that the tippman is a dope bombproof gun. I fiddled with my emag probably about 6 hours a week to keep it performing the way I wanted it to, tippmans take about 1 hour of maintenance a year. I'd love to help you with barrels, but I've been out of the industry for a couple years so I'm sure they've made shit I've never even heard of. .

tippmans do require very little work, which is one of the reasons that they are the rental gun of choice for most places.
