is there such thnig as boots or shkis that would dampen or absorb some of the shock when taking hard landings. Because every once in a while ill hit a jump that much too hard and it hurts like hell. ive heard of like foam cores but i dont know...

Salomon 1080 boots. Or some salomon women's boots that use the same cushy soft rubber boot board. They're supposedly really comfortable, but I don't own a pair so I can't confirm that. Or take your boot board out and replace it with silicone, but if you don't know what you're doing, find a DAMN good bootfitter.

A foam core ski won't help you in getting rid of landing impact.

there are for example also the nordica wave boots which have shock absorbing pads, also the marker free binding line has big air pads which are made of elastomer and absorb hard landings...

k2 used to have little lights in their skis and snowboards that converted the energy thus reducing how much you feel it.

The soft boots are all right, but that's only for overall comfort skiing down tougher slopes. Like, if they don't fit you right though, u are screwed (like w/ any boot). And I'm pretty sure they don't help with landing pain that much.

Skiing is not for the simple minded, that's why they invented the snowboard.

These boots have shock dampner in them: Lange Concept Boots in the liner, Rossi Soft in the shell, Salomon 1080 in the shell, Nordica in the liner, Atmoic Tweak & R10 & R11 in the shell. Just to name a few. Skis if they have a dampner are not real twin tips, cause what makes a good twin tip in the spring in the tip and tails. There are pads you can put under the bindings (Marker & Rossi/Look) but don't get too carried away, too much dampening and you will not feel the way the skis are acting.

my toes get into the end of my boot off cliffs, it hurts, and you can just poot triple crown mountainbike shocks under the binding, works for me!
