Acid rain: american and canadian probs.

Hey, Ive just been doing some research on Acid rain and i found out something that Canadians will be stoked about :-(:

Scientists have calculated that half of the acid rain hitting them (canadians) is of American origin. Acid rain from the US is effecting over half a million lakes in Ontario and Quebec.
Over 18 000 of which are totally fishless and other wildlife has decreased dramatically.
Scientists have also proved a link between Sulfur dioxide(the chemical that produces sulfuric acid when binded with water in the atmosphere) levels in the air and lung cancer.

So pretty much Canada is getting shat on by the US.

And it's not going to get any better since Georgey boy recently cut half a billion dollars off the environmental agency budjet, to pay for his fucked war! and is cutting down trees to 'stop the spread of bush fires'

Oh sorry Canada looks like your chances of getting lung cancer are on the rise!

That's not news to us. It's an unfortunate side effect of having environmentally inconsiderate neighbours, though I might add that Canada isn't the greatest when it comes to protecting the environment either.

so, basically... the problem is that the states has 1908098709871243097x the people that canada does. of couse this creates some polution problems. before you speak about clean canada, which i know jib this already acknowledged, go visit towns like prince george, naniamo, or quesnel. i only mention those cause ive been to em. some of the dirtiest places ive ever seen. due mostly to the nastyness that spews out of the pulp mills in those towns. i swear the trees are yellow around prince george... not to mention that there seemes to be a lack of emmissions regulations on vehicles. this is evident if youre ever in abbotsford, or any of the places in the frasier valley, as the sea breeze blows all of vancouvers smog up the valley. just disgusting... so its not that anyone is clean or dirty, its all a matter of population. i spent some time touring around china for a month, and boy howdy, you havnt seen polution till youve been to a place like that. the bottom line is that lagwagon is a boy kisser, and he needs to have his mouth closed with sutures, and his fingers sewn to the palms of his hands so that he cannot speak or type his nonsense anymore... but everyone here already knows that...

Actually, if you want to visit a dirty canadian town, go to hamilton. Steel mills galore. Pulp mills are really clean by comparison.

I'm not sure i believe that there are 18000 fishless lakes in canada that used to have fish in them. I mean, if lake ontario still has fish miraculously clinging to life....any lake should be fine.

Anyways, my point is that the next american who asks me if i gave them in the cost of their rental skis in AMERICAN FUNDS, i'm going to shoot myself. YOU'RE IN CANADA GODDAMN IT THUS CANADIAN PRICES!!!

yah the smelting plants in canada have really screwed up some of the water ways there. all pollution sucks, if its in canada, america, iraq, NEW ZELAND. stop trying to stir shit up dick.

but thanks i was just wondering it just amazed me at that statistic, and coz i just found out bush cut the half bill from the environmental agency it just kinda pissed me off, but yea Scandanavia has the exact problem from the UK.
