How the hell did this happen? aparently there were only 3 guys there and one of them got killed.
But whats the process for getting them back? Since the gov wont negotiate

There is no process, unless they escape, they won't be gotten back. I'm pretty sure most countries have the no-negotiation rule, so don't be mad at the US.

if you give them wat they want, terrorists will keep kidnapping GI's and asking for shit, and we will keep giving them stuff

And if you don't give them what they want they still will keep kidnapping and demanding shit. It's a loose-loose situation.

I cant believe how you can get kidnapped with a m16 in your hands along with countless other smaller weapons, when next to you are two other men with M16s and some other small weapons. The dudes have thousands of hours of training under their belt, and enough ammunition to kill 40 Iraqui Insurgents. I wonder if these dudes left in a gun fight, or like surrendered automatically.

I doubt there are 100 iraquis that kidnapped two united states soldiers.

We could always send some special forces in to get them back with force

The rangers are a bit busy without having to rescue people. It'd be a great thing to do, but I don't think they'd be able to do it.

just FYI....Rangers probably wouldn't be running the rescue missions.
you could consider them the lowest tier on the special forces ladder, but...when you get down to it they are really just a more trained army battalion. Rangers (75th battalion), 82th and 101st airborn are realy just better trained soldiers, not really "special ops"
the true special forces are delta, SEALS, air combat comtrollers, BUDS, force recon, Special forces groups, etc.

Force Recon would for sure do it.

I don't know too much about the army, or ranks, or whatever. I just threw out Rangers because I have a buddy who's a ranger and I know he does special op stuff, so when the kid said special ops, it popped into my head.
Good info though, thanks for posting that.
