Ok so I'm looking to buy a digital vid camera for next season, and I'm wondering about some good cheap cameras that are good for general use in sports filming, such as skiing. So just throw some sugesstions out

just get your basic 3ccd digital mini dv camera. they are all just about the same. if you can go to best buy and find an open box deal or something that's a good thing to look for. or you could buy it open it return it get your money back and then buy it again when it's discounted on the open box shelf.

a 3ccd cameras are pricey but worth the money
the panasonic 3ccd's are pretty good but the veiw finder is wack so that wont work because you need a good long veiw finder if you filming in the snow
canon opturas are a good buy

dont buy the optura or the $1000 "3ccd" panasonic
just another marketing scheme
vx1000, gl2, vx2000 and up are all good cams
the cheapest but still legit 3chip is the sony TRV 900

oh yeah... make sure you get a 6 hour battery. it comes with a 2 hour but that drains even faster on a cold day. if you're using it for skiing, get a 6 hour battery.
