my last season sucked so bad, so im stoked x 2 for next season

a soul plate for skis would be fucking gay. #1 we aren't rollarbladers so stop trying to make us into them. #2 skis are long so a soul plate still isn't going to allow us to do fruit booting slides. #3 What is wrong with how a ski slides a rail now, there would be no benefit to a soul plate. #4 personally I think your an idiot

Want to step up that rail game? Start watching inline skaters. Get a pair of cheap blades and LIVE on rails this summer. You don't have to steal their style or grinds, but watch their balance, agility, the way they approach rails, and especially, the way they set up spins on and off.

Tryin to step up that jump game? Get a big ass trampoline. Get used to being in the air for extended periods of time and being completely in control of your body.

Get a skiing video game, try to find jump and rail variations that maybe you don't see so much. Weird switch up and spin-off patterns are endless. Same with jumps. Get a pair of skis on your feet and explore the world of double grabs. They are limitless.

Take a yoga class, get flexible. That way, you can stick that double true nose. Join the gym, work your knees, calves, quads, abs and back. Don't worry about getting ripped for the chicks. Worry about getting injury-proof. I recommend reading a few Men's Health magazines for some injury-preventing lifts and stretches.

nothins wrong with the we way slide now, but thats the kinda thinking process that kills progression. i will be the first to admit that most other "sould grind" things on skis look shitty, but so what? that doesnt mean there isnt a possibility for it to look awesome.

second, no, i am not a rollerblader. however, there are pretty obvious similarities between the two, and its a source of influence for me. if you have some huge feude against it, fine. i dont care. then differentiate yourself, and push the sport in another direction. thats what needs to happen, instead of people being closed minded to new ideas, and trying to just follow what everyone else does.

third, what kinda grinds would you need a "soul plate" for? well, here

first off, this season i spent alot of time perfecting my backslides. literally everyone, from the groms to the boarders were all diggin um (so no one else seemed to think they were gay). anyway, i Xd my ski over my back ski. i kept trying to figure out a way to keep the rotation going, and bring my lifted foot over and onto the rail, while dropping my uphill ski off and perpendicular to the rail. (kinda like a backslide to frontside switchup unnatty backslide, but not) its pretty much impossible. with a soul plate on my outside edge, totally doable.

3, slide the rail strictly on the plate, maybe with other leg slightly in front and crossed over, grabed if desired, switch or frontside,

the more time you spend thinkin bout stuff, the more variations and shit you can come up with. so yes, there is definatly room to progress.

and finally, if you think a grind plate type thing on a ski is gay, than go bitch at BMX'ers, cause thats all pegs are. you can still grind rails without them, but its impossible to do half the shit you can with them. same deal bro.
