Cool shit for dorms

My roommate has a kayak, plus all the same shit I have, so I think we should probably rent a storage unit or something.

Pictures, posters, I hang up a lot of my artwork I've done - you do have to trust those who you live with - and we had some cupboards way up high you could lock stuff in our dorm rooms so I'd put my camera and shit up there, and trust no one is going to walk off with my skis, and my roomies now in my apartment wouldn't dream of it. :)

what you really need are those ski holders you put on the walls. You could line up 3 or 4 pairs of ski's and the girls will line of in pairs of 3 or 4 for you. For serious.

Actually... having lived in a dorm for 2 years, I gotta say the less stuff you have the happier you will be. Take what you need. usless shit will only take up what limited space you have. and get things that can serve many purposes... sure a lava lamp can do cool lighting things, but a small reading lamp shining on a peice of red paper will also do cool lighting things. Things to organize yourself, storage containers and the like are aweoesome. Beer Fridges are a must if you dont want to cool your beer under running watter in the bathroom. A container to keep condoms in arms reach of your bed is also smart... Dont bring a wireless mouse or keyboard into rez, they will get taken from you.

But that being said, the most important and coolest thing you will need for your dorm life is a camera. No joke. Your memory will fail you regulary (3 or 4 nights a week if you go to a cool school like Bishop's) and a camera is awesome for peicing together nights, and all round remembering the shit your doing.

And a fan is also a must... you can get pretty sweet fans. I have an ultra slim tower fan with a remote control and themomater. It is sooo pimp.

And posters. Anything to add colour to the dingy rooms is awesome.

A body pillow is a great thing to have one your bed, it makes any bed into a couch with ease for those nights when your watching movies, or people just want somewhere comfy to sit.

And id also suggest a coffee maker or an electric kettle and instant coffee. It will save you. Espicaly on those days when youve only slept for 4 hours, are super hung over and wake up with a 2000 word paper to write before 1 in the afternoon. And dont think that wont happen to you, it will. Some of my best papers have been written when I was still drunk from the night before only 1 hour before the class it was due. Then again, im taking Classical studies and Drama... So it might be diffrent for you.

I am going to a Univ this fall also and kinda worried about my shit gettin jacked. With my luck they will take my ski gear...if that happens there will be HELL to pay.
