Would bacons work for me?

so im debating wether or not to get bacons, id use them for some park even though im getting park skis too, and probably alot of bc kickers and some cliffs and stuff. so i guess i want it to be pretty light, i 179 maidens last year and they were too heavy for park and bc kickers, i definatly want them to be soft, the softer the better. so i just want them to be good for spinning and stuff. i weigh around 140-150ish. the elizabeths just seem too small and the bacons might be a tiny bit too big, a perfect bc type ski for me would probably be like 178 so i guess bacons are close enough.
what do you think?

all fat skis are heavy... they will probably be pretty comperable to the Made'n, but I don't know from experience. Weight is one thing you give up with fatness, and K2 makes some of the medium weight to lighter fats.

yeah thats what sucks, i know whatever i get is still gonna be sorta heavy, the only light fat ski i know of is the jp vs juliens, but i think they are too skinny, i did have my maidens mounted at +5 so it wasnt really anywhere near true center, and with bacons wouldnt you be mounting them like right at true center? would that help with spinning easier and make them feel lighter?

If the SFB are anything like the Elizabeth's -- which they should be -- then they will be an excellent "fun" ski for dicking around. If you are looking for a fat ski that is light, then you cannot go wrong with the JP Vs. Julien. That ski is the lightest 100+ waist ski that I have ever felt. BUT, the JP is more of a skiers ski for everything, while the SFB is going to be more freestyle orientated.
Just my 2cents.

the bacons are a little stiffer than lizzies, but this is mostly to make up for the extra length, they should ski pretty similar, maybe alittle more stable.

how about if i just said i want the funnest, easiest to butter, not stiff at all, ski thats wider than 105. then would the bacons be that ski?
and you said they are stiffer because they are longer than the elizabets, so would they pretty much flex the same when your skiing them?

probably to other twintipped skis, since this kid has another pair of skis for park as he said. and in pretty much most cases, more material=more weight. of course it will be different with different materials. but also, i'm sure race bindings are much heavier because of mad riser plates that are used as opposed to your, taking a guess here, look p12s or something.
but anyways, not many people have skied the francis bacons, so people would only be able to give you their opinion based on what they've heard. if you're really that concerned with weight, go peep them at a shop or something.

if your IDEAL ski is a 178, a 171 lizzy is not far off at all. that ski is desgned to be rdden shorter. plus, your a fiarly light dude, so you should be fine with the lizzy.

how about those ninthward rory skis? they are like 110 in the waist, and have soft tips and tails, it looks like they are pretty much a ski just for bc jumps, which is pretty much what i want.

Hahahaha. Pollard dosen't RIDE for MSP. He shoots with them. Plus he's the only good thing coming from that movie...I'll take footage from the other people in other movies....Pollard too...but he'll have more exclusive stuff with them.

hey bro, I think I can help you out. I've got some Bacons and I will tell you they are a MEATY ski. Think about it: they are slightly wider and the same length as your Made'ns, so they are even heavier. I think they are light considering their size, but they aren't something you will be spinning on, that's for sure. If you only weight 140 or 150 the Elizabeth is a MUCH better choice for you. The shorter length will cut down on weight and they carve like crazy and have tons of surface area so you don't need a longer ski. They are insanely fun - but don't get Bacons merely because they sound like a great idea. If I were you I would get some elizabeths. If you are set on it, Bacons are fun too, but I'd lean towards the Lizzy.

Bacons are defiately the right choice. Im 5'8" and 150lbs and they are a dream to ski. So much more fun than you can possibly imagine. They say that they are a 182cm but really, running length on mine is closer to 160cm. Tip to tail measurement without taking into account the camber, and curvature of the tips is 179cm, or there abouts (bindings got in the way.) In summary, get Bacons!!!
