I'm just wondering how many of you know that the anti-war cololition was formed just DAYS after the sept 11th atacks in 2001? To me that seems a little fishy, Hmmmm.... Think what you wish but Protesting in these days is a joke, no one listens, I for one turn on the tv and laugh that someone spent there whole day outside for nothing. (oh and getting on TV doesn't mean anyone other then the people there care).

Alot of people are protesting just to protest and are just jumping on the bandwagon. In Cali, a few of the rallies have been set up by the communist party, and dumbass people start protesting with them just because they want to protest, not knowing what they are protesting for! Then the communist party gets to say that they have however many thousand people at their rally and should be recognized as their a new seperate party. So be careful people who are out protesting.

To anyone who wishes to read it: A viable war alternative:

Don't wage a war against Iraq. Continue inspections, drop sanctions. Allow Western influences into the country, allow US companies to exploit the market. 'Free' Iraqis diplomatically and economically... don't 'free' them by killing their sons, daughters, mothers, and fathers in a war. Protect the lives of Americans in the future by soothing our relations with the Islamic world. TREAT THE CAUSE, NOT THE EFFECT. Terrorism is not caused by Saddam Hussein building weapons of mass destruction and giving them to terrorists; terrorists are normal people who are raised to hate our country and beliefs, either because of past grievances or current. Remove the reasons for hatred, and hatred will end.

A final note: anyone who believes that calling someone 'gay' constitutes a valid argument should stay quiet.

Wow kamikaze, your post was really deep at the start. I know we’ve always butted heads but it doesn’t mean that midwestskier was a waste of time. Matter of fact it’s been something I’ve enjoyed doing in my spare time and I know of at least ten to fifteen people who enjoy the outcome that talk to me on a regular basis, so for me it’s been worthwhile. Not to mention the side business I’ve been getting writing code and helping my friend set up a server so we won’t have bandwidth/cost issues like ns does. But lets not get into that because it doesn’t matter.

I actually like the idea you suggested. The only problem with it is Saddam and he rules with an iron fist over his people. He feeds them a steady diet of propaganda (all tv and newspaper are gov’t run and owned) and is in near total control of what happens to his people. To ask someone who has that much power to give it up is one thing. To have them truly give it up would be nothing short of a miracle. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been praying that we wouldn’t have to go to war and now that it’s started, that it would be quick and safe. Last thing I need to have happen is to have a family close to me end up in pain because of the war. But do you understand that regions like these take time to adapt capitalism, Russia after the fall of the communist regime is a prime example. There economy is doing better now this it was during the cold war and I doubt anyone would say the people are worse off now.
