i have worn through the toe pieces and heel pieces in my current boots past the point where i can replace them, the result is that they no longer are solidly held in my bindings (prereleasing). i have a wider foor, like a lighter boot. i was thinking Mojos, 1080 Foils, or something else. lange makes narrow boots which usually don't fit me. they will be for park, all around, booters, and steeps, but i am looking more for comfort and lightness. i am looking for imformation on these boots, and possibly other suggestions you might have. thank you.
go with what fits your foot the best and definetly get some cork superfeet. (as long as you have some sort of arch)any good ski shop can fit you correctly and get you in the boot that will perform the way you want it to. make sure to get your foot measured also. ive sold boots for 7 years now and hardly any one knows their true foot size.good luck.
salomons tend to fit wider, so depending what you like to ski get the 1080 or spk boot if you like park, or x8 or 9 if you're more hinted towards freeride.. , and throw some of the green super feet (maximum shock absorbtion) in em.
the mojo's have an adjustment feature in them, so they flex like park boots or like pro gun model boots. they're pretty good, and so are x-wave 8's for freeriding^^^. foils own as well.
i've heard good things on the kryptons?
someone else can reinforce that.
gracias, i am currently stuck in the casa, had the wisdoms yanked today, so i can't goto a shop for a couple days, but i want some ideas so i can research pricing, seeing as i have all day. keep the info and suggestions coming.
i have wide feet also and the foils were a match in heaven, so look into the foils, plus search the net and you can find some really good deals on the foils right now, but like others said you might want to try them on first but in my case i already had salo boots (26.5) and knew how they fit so i went with a 27 in foils and they were perfect. try to find the stores that have closeouts in your size because you can really save a shit load of money.
If you have semi-wide or wide feet don't get the Krypton at all, I have narrow feet and after the lining packed out I can't stand them because my ankle hits the inside of the boot shell, they do flex amazingly though.
I have 9XWave by salomon.......they are wide and comfy for my feet. I just bought some insoles for the park and they rock man......anywhere.....the 10Xwaves.....i find they are a little to stiff for what i am looking for.....but give the XWave a try man....stiff enough for everything.....and wide for comfort.
i was just saying the shop i went to had horrible prices, like 500 for mojos and 450 for 1080s, so i obviously wasn't going there, i have time today, so ill look at other shops in the area.
i was thinking about these, but in comparing it to the 1080 foil, which is cheaper, it would perform worse all mountain. that's why i'm looking around now for the best deal on either the 1080 foil or MOJOs in 28 or 28.5 (same shell size, with custom insole wouldn't matter anyway)
aren't half sizes to deal with width of the foot....could be wrong. I would personally recommend some rossi softs... no shin bang....but may be a little to soft for all around preference
went with 1080 foils in 28.5, i was lucky, my local shop had a return this week, so they had my size, and it was $80 cheaper than anywhere else i'd seen, including online.
