did anyone else hear about that sports game where they sang the canadian and american anthem? Half of the canadian crowd boo-d when the american anthem was sung. Just listening to that on the radio made me wanna find the nearest canadian and punch them. I understand that not all canadians are against us and there are alot of them who are tired of seeing us get spat apon, but there are also alot of canadians who think that bush is a tyrant and that we are evil. Well you know what, fuck them. fuck canada. What kind of ally are they to us? When everything is going well, when our economy is going great, they are our friends. But when trouble comes upon us and we are struggling they spit on us. What kind of friends are they? fair weather friends? I dont want to have an ally like that..what good are they. Hearing people boo at our national anthem is one of the most disrespectful things ive ever heard. Fuck you canada, for everything that we've done for you, you cant even back us up in times of trouble. I hate even talking about this, it makes me so angry.

oh. my. dear. goodness. skigurl. you really need to shut up. seriously. i think the only reason that no one else has responded to this has to do with the level of assininity that you comments reached. everyone knows that canada was in wwII years prior to our involvment, but you lost half your population? thats sounds a bit exagerated to me. we would be dead without you? ummm... again, you fall victim to the hyperbole... and the original post was about the most blatant disrespect to a country, its people, and in this case the american hockey players that were in the game, that i can recall. you cant go back in history and make questionable comments in defense of somthing so vile. i was extremely pissed off when i was watching sportscenter and i saw that. and you know what the sad thing was? it didnt suprise me. alot of people need to grow up, and apparantly some of them live in montreal.

To the World War 2 thing. I think we lost about a quater of our population? something like that. And the Americans did leave us in a couple of tight spots and we did always go in first serving as a human shield for Americans and Bush is a complete dumbass but booing any National anthem is amazingly disrespectful. I do think we should have helped in this 'war' in iraq but you know we wouldn't be too much of a use. We would be doing what we are doing now, which is to be peacekeepers in iraq and give supplies and aid to people that are hurt. We wouldn't be fighting.

The americans have booed our anthem at sports events like mauii was saying, hell even the quebecers have booed the canadian anthem, they are canadian, wtf? But ya, the Islanders fans booed the canadian anthem in the playoffs last year. The thing is Canadians dont hate Americans, it's just that some canadians dont like what Bush and the whole government are doing. No there is definetly no sense in booing each others anthems, thats for sure. Basically, dont listen to anything that goes on in Eastern Canada. Bush is not a moron. I believe he is in fact one of the strongest, smartest and resileint presidents there has ever been. And Americans and the rest of the world should be thankful for this. Or you could have some President/Prime Minister that just sits there and hopes problems will fix themselves and is unable to make any real decisions.

And no a quarter of our population did not die. Unless only 800 000 people lived here in 1945. And no we dont supply the US with half their defense. Youve got to be kidding me. And how would the states be dead if it wasnt for us in world war 2. They are the ones that more or less stepped in and turned the allied campaign around, albeit, their timing was favourable.

Thats another thing. There the states were being hated by the world for being isolationist, and not being concerned for the international community. And now... does this really need an explaination.

And one more thing. A shot at a countries gov is a shot at their people, as the government is a representation of the people. And in most causes, especially this one, the government has the majority of the peoples support, and is therefore, fair to say that it is a fairly accurate representation.

i started out my argument saying that i know alot of canadians arent like that and i like canada in general, but i was pissed to hear that there are enough people out there who are full of their own shit to boo our national anthem.. and not just for fun, for a reason. Im ashamed if any american citizen boo's any other anthem.. but i dont speak for anyone else. I speak for my own opinion.
