Ski movie segments and there energy

I have to say I am often disapointed by the energy level and aw factor in alot of vid segs after I purchased them, thinking that they would by as intense and as impressive making me as skoked as there movie trailer did. I know that the trailer is mainly the best shots leaving out a few but the songs always maked you stoked correct, and in many movies the music is just terrible, I don't care if it is country as long as it's high energy and makes me want to go ski well maybe not country but anything but that crap that I have been hearing the last couple years. So to all the film makers out there make a sick vid that shows skiing and enhances it with good or at least decent music and cool angles and ditch the this music makes me feel like this bs.

what segments have you seen that you've had a problem with? specific examples would make it a lot easier to understand what you're saying.

whiteshine had one of the most relaxed (boring some would say) soundtracks...but if went really well, and flowed nicely.
SH6 had a good amount of energy and hype, still my best pick.

g code - getto boys was by far the best song ever featured in a ski movie. to top it off, sammy c was the rider - and it was fantastic

When using hip-hop/rap/r'n'b musik in skiing videos you take the intensety and the energy out of I.
It's like you can't watch a guy go 50mph when there is layed back music in the background, but put a more up-tempo song to the clip, and you get the feeling of speed and intensety.
But it's a "trend" a the moment among extreme sport video producers, to use layed back music insted of the more aggresive and fast music, like punk og rock. Looking back at some older skateboard videos you will hear more punk, and nearly no hip-hop at all.
City Of Engels by The Distillers, used in Yearbook, must be the best song used in any ski video.
So I would say "BRING BACK PUNK IN EXTREME SPORT VIDEOS".

for good music i normaly look to L1P as they really have a good variety of tunes in there movies and the music mostly fits the segment such as nowhere again by secret machines in SH6 etc.

That bullet and a target song used by both MSP and TGR this year is probably the worst I have ever heard in a video. Made me want to go to sleep. I usually like PBP.

yeah, you can't expect every seg in every movie to be great. I just hope that there are two or three segments in every movie that i can watch over and over and still be impressed.

some people like rap and others like the harder rock so i think these companies are rying to get everyones vote and feature lots of different music genres, and i think that you yourself personaly wont like every segement but it will appeeal to someone else

its hard to get rights to use certain music, thats why there is always bootleg soundtracks.
checkout the new technine video.MFM spins the whole soundtrack, combines it with the craziest urban and bc, and is one of the best flicks i seen this year. its a snowboard video, but its sick.

I find that you have to have theright music with the right edit. That points in the song schould correstpond with certain hits. Like high energy works.....but it all depends if it is well edited or not. Different music can get you all pumped up if it is done right.
