i'm wondering if anyone can help me here, today i came home and opened up Safari but it took like 3 minutes to open. then i logged into NS, and when i clicked the button to sign in it wouldn't respond, and then it would close by itself. i figured it just messed up that once, but it kept doing 3 more times, since i'd figured it would be good try to make sure. it's still not working...any ideas?
Restart your computer...that helps sometimes. If that doesent work turn your computer off, unplug and then the internet let it set for a few minutes and then plug it back in and start the computer.
yea i tried restarting, and just tried shutting down and all that...and it's still messed up. i don't get it at all, i've never had a problem with it before today and it worked fine in the morning.
that is strange because usually if i restart everything is fine. i would try another browser like internet explorer and see how that works to determine whether its your connection or safari
wiierd, my safari works fine, maybe empty the download cahce in it? and if your really desperate try re-installing it.....maybe you caught a rare virus?
my safari is slightly fucked up and will quit sometimes randomly, but its not as bad as you are describing. You should take your computer to some smart people like small dog electronics or something so they can tell you whats up
nah it's a powerbook. for like a year i've had no problems with safari, so weird. i guess i'll just chill out with beat firefox if no one else has ideas.
Mine got messed up after looking at some good porno...if you have a lot of free time, back up EVERYTHING and then use your CDs that came with your computer.
Ok... Make a new user on your computer and launch safari - does it work? If safari crashes in the new user it's a problem with the app or some system level prefs, and you need to reinstall. IF safari works on the new user it's something with your account, go into /users//library/preferences/ and trash the com.apple.safai.plist file. If that doesn't work reinstall.
If you get to the reinstall step on either test put your os X disc in the drive, reboot the computer and hold down the "c" key on your keyboard. The installer will launch hit continue through it until you reach a spot where it asks you to select a drive, there's a button in the lower left hand corner of the screen that says options. Hit options and choose "archive install" and make sure that "preserve users and network settings" IS selected.
