Arvs too soft?

im thinking of buing this years arvs because i found a killer deal and im wondering if there too soft for me when i do alot of backcountry shit and should i get them mounted true center when i do 80 percent in the park

A lot of BC "shit" does not = 20% BC 80% park.
They are too soft for pretty much anything other than park. Don't even thing about charging or skiing heavy stuff or crud in these.
They will wobble like a wet noodle.

not for the 130 lbs kid they aren't too soft.

and "BC" doesn't mean "charging or skiing heavy stuff or crud" it means skiing fresh pow and corn out of the bounds of a resort though I doubt these 80% park kids understand that.

As to the original question please never mount a 95mm waist ski true center if you value your ability to actually ski. I've had freinds mount these at -3cm and go over the handle bars off of cliffs like they planned to do rag doll front flips down the outrun.

they stiffened them up this year..and it doesnt matter if there soft. it maters if u dont know how to ski..there are 2 people who absolutly kill on arv's at out mountain and there pushin 150-160. its all about how much skill u have and if u know how to ride

They're still soft.
And BC doesn't just mean powder.
IMO BC means what I said before...you have to expect the unexpected.
Say that you ski 80% powder then, not 80% BC. Specify!

and yes, do not center...

Hum... I believed Armada JP vs Julien were centered skis and it's also a b/c ski...
So I don't understand why he shouldn't center his Arv's! Plus he does ski 80% park (as he said) so... I don't understand...

Wow, please don't post if you have no idea what you are talking about. They are WAY softer, I mean, SO MUCH softer than last year. Last years were like a 6 on a 10 point scale in stiffness, this years are probably a 1 or 2. I speak from owning both the '05 and '06 models.

As for your stupid comment about skill and knowing how to ride... I am a big skier (195 lbs) and they definitely were not made for charging hard lines. They chatter a bit and don't hold great on ice. And yes, I know how to carve.

i saw them in person for the first time yeasterday and i was flexing them and they were so soft i thaught i would snap the ski in half im 160 and i dont know how well it will hold but i dont know what else to try

i ride my arvs at recommended. i take em everywhere, park, powder, cliffs, bumps, groomed, etc. they only thing that they don't hold up very well on is ice, but they're still ok for that. they kill it. (oh yeah, i'm about 155-160 lbs)
