I can see this mountain right now outside my window and its been a dream of mine to ski it since I was a kid. Looks as it its always caked in snow and looks sooo nice. I did some research and looks like a hell of a hike but I was wondering if anyone has attempted it.
i skied it last summer with my dad. on the summit descent, we were walking down through a scree field to get to the glacier on the backside. There was one big rock at the top of the glacier about the size of a VW Bug that I decided to climb on. Soon as i put my weight on it, it rolled and I to leap onto the snow.
Fortunately, the rock only tipped on its side and stopped rolling. but unfortunately, my backpack threw off my balance when i jumped and i landed on my back and got kinda scraped up and bent the frame of my backpack. All in all, it was a fun two-day climb.
my mom didnt have twin tips, but she did fine. its spring conditions but that doesnt mean that the snow wont slide. i saw a few small slides and i actually caused one aswell! mostly off of old cornices and weak layers wear the snow is melting. its pretty safe tho, just go with a friend and bring lots of water!
4 in dat ho? I don't get it. Anyways, I will hike that shit this summer, I don't think ill bring gear the first time, but ill go get pics and scope out lines for my second ascent.
