Unbelievable!
You wont waltz in there and beat every single Iraqi under the sun. Iraqis dont hate Saddam like Bush tells you they do. They hate YOU, in fact most of the world hates America whether they have the balls to admit it or not. Canada, GB, France... none of us can stand you.
When I was down there listening to the radio a month ago, the 'news' was basicly propaganda: No real facts or reporting... Instead they told you how evil Saddam was and how much terror he has caused. Honestly I was in shock, I have never heard such blatant propaganda before in my life and no one around me noticed.

I'm a lot more scared now than before we started on this Iraq war thing. There's nothing Iraq can do to us now other than possibly help out terrorists. And we're just giving more and more fuel for their fire.

Did it ever occur to any of you that you, that your opinions are more the product of the over-active working of your minds and less of what external stimuli informs us all? I read through that whole thing and maybe I missed it, but I didn't see anything about 200,000 dead. I know he's killed a lot of people, I'm just sick of people making things up to support their argument (skiinsted, supilot, etc). Not like 8,000 is that different than 200,000 is that different from 2 million.

i totally agree with nine milla killa, he's totally rignt in my opinion..
Bundo did u think that we can compare saddam and hitler? he's saddam conquering the world? i don't think saddam he's a danger for anyone, and if u say he's dangerous for iraki you're right but why don't america attack Chile whan augusto pinochet was doing the same?
the only reason of this war is that bush want 'his' war, for have iraks oil and for maybe be more popular.
he says he want peace for world but what he's doing is the best way to see new terrorist attack in USA.

that really isn't just it. the US has been waiting to attack iraq for a very long time, and supposidly iraq was 'linked'(i'm not sure if it is true) to bin laden, which means they have done something to us. The US feels that iraq is a threat, why? because sadaam is very liable to make these weapons of mass destruction and sell them to terrorist groups such as alkada who then in turn use them against the US or other countries.

Thats the problem with liberals....you all say you are scared because you truly are a bunch of pussies who undoubtedly were breast fed until the age of 15. i guess you are probably not american because we have pride and we are willing to fight and die for what we believe in. My we have alot of upper level military officials on NS. Don't believe what you read or hear, find out the facts for your self through other means then the TV, Print or the Internet. Killing is bad, I don't recall a referandum on the 'thou shallt not kill' part of the ten commandments?? I think Bush and Hussesin are going to have a tough after life.
Maybe after the nuclear winter sets in over there it will affect the world wide climate and we get record snow falls that would keep us skiing until the middle of the summer. I'm sorry I just have to have a postive spin on everything.

It's simple as this. I'm not reading all the posts.

The real question about this all is... why does President Bush not make a big deal about an even mmore dangerous nation, who has openly admitted that they have nuclear weapons pointed directly at the US and other targets.

Where is the incentive to invade Iraq? Because there MUST be underlying benefits.

^WRONG! UNMOVIC has found absolutely NO evidence of an Iraqi nuclear program.

And on the subject of the US 'liberating' people oppressed by Saddam - Saddam has the support of the majority of his population. The groups being supported by the US are violent ethnic minorities. Of course they are repressed. In Canada, a referendum endorsing Quebec separation barely failed. One could argue that the US should bomb Ottawa and turn power over to the 'repressed' Quebecois from our evil 'tyrant' Cretien. Or the same could be said for the Basques in Spain. Or the Catholics in N. Ireland Or the aboriginals in Austrailia. Why doesnt the US go bomb these countries too, since they are in such a 'liberating' mood?

I didn't read all the pages of this forum because as NMK said, you all seem to be victims of CNN, now i'm not saying that my opinion is 100% correct because I don't have any way of finding out directly. I think what Bush is doing is he's just trying to finish the job that clinton couldn't finish in 1998, because if clinton had finished the job there wouldn't have been this problem about weapons of mass destruction.

just as su pilot mentioned, bush did not drop that bomb on the red cross, I'm pretty sure Saddam did not personally murder and rape upwards of 200 000 people. It was some high ranking army official that is not near saddam in the chain of command that ordered it. I'm not for this war, I'm not for saddam. I don't think bush is doing the right thing. It was never proved that 9-11 was related to iraq. and yes I'm sure a hell of a lot more countries than france will join the fight if he does deploy chem/bio weapons. and how do we know that the states doesn't have any biological/ chemical weapons?

when you look at war casualties versus non war casualties you will see that the amount is slim. we are not blowing up iraq. we are hitting highly specific weapon facilities and other areas which house officials. there will be very few civilian casualties....wait and see. youthinasia you speak as though you have a seat with the CIA...you dont know that. you just speculate.

see that's the problem with you blowhard republicans, you have a lot of pent-up hostility; maybe your parents didn't love you enough as a child, or maybe you're overcompensating for a lacking in certain physical attributes (if you know what I mean). I've never even been that much against this war, other than that Bush hasn't shown anything to prove that Saddam is a threat to the U.S. There is no link between Saddam and bin Laden and no link between Saddam and sept 11. It's just that you republican bush-cocksucking war mongers annoy the fuck out of me so I am inclined to side with the 'liberal pussy hippies'

you mean proof was not shown to the public....we have to protect our sources at all costs. and honestly i dont care if they had anything to do with 9/11. point is they kill murder rape innocent men woman and children. and not just a few, but more like hundreds of thousands. to me that is cause enough and totally justifies action. (and powell did link iraq to al queda, but you can ignore that to further enforce your lack of information.) we didnt not openly prove the presence of nukes, chem, or bio weapons, but the link to terrorism was made known. better check yourself again.

yes I know powell has suggested a link, but nothing has ever been proven conclusively, so it's ridiculous. if they had hard evidence it would be everywhere, all over the news. they don't and they know it. bin Laden hates Saddam, calling Iraq an 'apostate regime.' hell we have a much greater connection to al-Qaeda, both historically and in 'harboring' them in the U.S. and even teaching them how to fly planes.

i read a few of the posts, and obviously theres nothing different than what has been found on every other post on this subject. what i did find funny were two comments... the first was the admonision that we get our information from a souce other than tv, print or the internet... now, maybe im missing somthing, but it seems that this leaves me with the only option of unbiased information gathering being a plane ticket and a few days hotel reservation in baghdad, (which i hear are a bit hard to come by nowadays.) obviously the three aforementioned mediums are the only way to get our information, so dont suggest rediculous things. second was the great statement that we are fighting a war that is not backed by the united nations. now, unless every news report i have heard in the last number of days have been untruthfull, it seems that there are about three or four un resoulutions athorizing this action. this isnt really new information, but i wonder how some people can miss it, and go on to post such tomfoolery.

i just thought of a few other things. firstly, i cant stand the repeted use of phrases like we are going to 'liberate' iraq, and how we are there to 'free the iraqi people from and oppressive regime' and whatnot. i think the war is necisarry, but using that venacular reminds me of the kind of things that mao zedong would say to in the beginnigs of the chinese civil war in the thirties and fourties... not a real positive thing to associate ourselfs with. i just think the speech writers need to get some new phrases... secondly, it was reported that iraq sent a scud or two at kuwait today, and as we know, iraq was not supposed to have any such weaponry, and claimed not to have it, and yet theres one in the sand in kuwait. obviously saddam never complied with the resoulutions at the end of the gulf war in 91, but that is hardly news to anyone.

some of you couldn't be farther from the truth man. The whole point of this war is to liberate the Iraqi people. And Liberation starts by removing the present regime and the republican army out of there. 35 countries make up the colition of the willing and America has lots of support from within Middle Eastern countries. Anyways there are several Iraqi soldiers surrendering at the boarder before the war even started. they know they can't win and if the estimated 2/3's surrender this will be that much better of a war.

not even 5 minutes ago I saw on cnn or some other news station that other than kuait, most of the other nations condemned the US for attacking, even though it went on to say that they will be releived he will be gone. just countering whoever mentioned that the middle eastern countries all supported the US.
