I actually agree on some of those statements whiteout wrote. Urbans should never have a wedge bigger than 2 stairs on that set and more like 1 1/2. Fisheye in the backcountry is not progressive, I fear it just being used to make a jump look bigger without obviously distorting it. And the Christ brothers? Really?
I am glad they are making movies and i definately could not do better, but if they are going to put it out, they should be ready to hear criticism. i thought the trailer was a little long too. just my opinion though...

isn't it funny how the kids who think they own these forums all jump to the aid of rage films, and claim this trailer as one of the best of all-time? hardly.
whiteout makes some valid points. time lapses and scenery shots to begin with? well they were very pretty. nice try and all. but do not call that creative or original. and do not say that whiteout inhibits creativity by saying trailers should or should not be created a certain way when the trailer isn't creative to begin with! next...
the wooden, like, 6 stair handrail. 2001 called, they want their jump back. same goes for 2 or 3 other handrail shots.
the rider intros. we GET it. theres corduroy, subliminally in the background. your movie's name is corduroy. the running theme is corduroy. corduroy corduroy corduroy. enough.
and the riders. certainly many established jibbers and freeriders alike, along with many more dooope up and comers. but far too many skiers, especially for a trailer. we all know by now that many of these riders will be in some sort of friends section in the full length release. but don't waste my time with them in the trailer.
patrik whateverhisnameis. that goober with the 1999-esque gear who makes one turn down an open pow field and triggers a slide. niiice. just thought i'd give him a shout-out.
12 kink rails, in my opinion, have never been cool.
we know by now that you have a partnership with arctic cat sleds. but you're going borderline msp with those gratuitous sledding shots.
the editing before dan marion is introduced. did you use ms paint?
and mike wilson, nearly killing himself again. this must be the 4th teaser in the past 4 years he's been featured in, while nearly killing himself.
by no means was it a terrible teaser though. a few positives?

Rage films is so cool. they deserve max credit for what they are doing.
the christ brothers and other all mtn skiers bring in a lot of viewers. i was at booter crunk world premier and half the ppl in there were oldschool guys there to see the steeps. but most ppl here are all park rats. (not saying its bad).
they film at mt hood because it represents them like their backgraonds and where they came from etc..
just because you dont like a movie doesnt mean you need to bitch and complain about it. get the fuck over it.

Seriously, when you look at a 15 stair rail, is spinning like a figure skater all you can think of short of just doing basic nose/tailpress? Like shit man, you are fucking amazing at skiing, there is so much stuff you can do on a 15 stair down rail that we havent even tapped into that doesnt invlove royales or one footers. Just because sammy carlson hasnt done it in the new RAGE teaser doesnt mean you cant go out there and pioneer something. Do a trick thats actually your own you know!
I feel like im taking crazy pills, as usual - how come most skiers dont seem to have a creative bone in thier body? Or is everyone not into doing thier own thing at the risk of not getting props for it?

aaah haha...sorry, i didn't mean it's the only thing that can be done, but the dude was hatin on gnar, tech rails and it was more to just make a point. i'd much rather see someone get creative, or try something creative, on a bigger rail, but a 15 stair rail is a legit place to start.
my comment was more of a joke if anything, since most skiers would see a smaller rail nowadays and be like "OOH 270 ON 360 SWITCH UP DOUBLE BACKFLIP OUT!!!!!"

Kent Kreitler is probably one of the five best skiers in the world. He absolutely kills big mountain lines, and he can also mix tricks into the lines he skis. You can film him in the park too, but what sets him apart is how hard he kills big mountains. Did you actually see the line he skied in the trailer? It was insane. Did you see waiting game? Barely one year removed from a gruesome injury he absolutely destroyed Alaska. The ski industry needs more of Kreitler destroying Alaska much more so than it needs more urban rails. TGR is weaker for not filming with him anymore, as is matchstick. Watch his signature movie, if you cannot recognize that as great skiing, you do not know what great skiing is. There are some sick lines in Alaska that only Kreitler and a couple of other people on the planet have done. You may not like him, that's your choice, and maybe that is what you are referring to. But to not recognize him as one of the best skiers in the world does not say very good things about your skiing. There is not a single jibber who can kill Alaska the way Kreitler does, and until one of the can they need to keep their mouths shut.

The Crist brothers are sick too. Kreitler and the Crist's could outski anyone on this site when it comes to big lines. Unless you are Nobis or McConkey or Hugo or Seth you really have nothing to say. And please no idiotic "if I got the chance to go up in a helicopter I could do just as well" type comments. If you are winning IFSA type events, or you have been killing big lines for 15 years without any recognition you might have something to complain about. But if you spend most of your time in the park please do not claim you are on that level.
