i have about $900 canadian to spend on a camera. what do you guys suggest i get and why?

don't get a digital camera...just save a few more buck and get a digital video camera. Then go with one of the handy-cams...

I've a Canon Powershot S200. It's pretty sweet, and doesn't cost nearly what you have to spend. I love the camera, and thier support stuff. My dad has one of thier high end cameras and has nothing but good to say about it. Definently check them out.

nikon and canon are on top of their shit. canon has more lens options though.
