Dating multiple people at once?

I've been dating this girl for a few weeks now, nothing major at all. We decided at the beginning to have an open relationship. However, I've never been the type of guy that could do that and knew this going into it (told her that but went along with it anyways). She started dating some other guy too (a pretty big asshole to her according to her friends...they have a history) and that just makes me uncomfortable. Am I wrong? Am I being an asshole by not wanting her to date others (she did say after we started she probably wouldnt like it if i started dating other people so im not being a total ass i dont think.) Any thoughts?

thoughts:
#1 you need the ladies men cult.
#2 i've dated multiple people at once and it has never worked out with any of them so i suggest if u like her enough to not want her dating other ppl then to tell her that! be straight with her and explain that u realize u are supposed to be an open relationship but the reality of the situation is, u dont want to date anyone else and u like her and feel uncomfortable knowing she's dating other ppl. if she can't understand that then she's not the girl for u and u gotta get the eff outta there.

i'd say it's a bad idea, sounds like a relationship killer. if you felt uncomfortable with the whole idea, you should've denied it at the beginning. try to get her to cut the crap.

haha, when i was 17, i took a break with my girlfriend and kinda hooked up with some other chick in the process, and for a while, i was workin the two together. and they new about each other too. i basically told them that when i was with one, i'd forget about the other, and just focus on whoever i was with. they eventually got cool with it. damn i was a bastard. girl 2 eventually trailed off though and i was back with the first for another year or so

its not really something I would want to do, and/or have had a chance to do, but, from what I have learned about the whole dating thing, is that it is in your best interest to date as many as possible UNLESS she has talked to you about making it exclusive. You never know what could happen. girls are sketch.

I'm going to agree with her. I date multiple girls all time. Frankly because I'm not really looking for something steady right now, but I'm not opposed if I meet an absolutely wonderful girl that sets her apart for the others. This never really amounts to anything special, because our attentions are both divided. But then again that could be due to the fact that neither one of us really wants a relationship anyways.
#1 Do you really like this girl? If you could have things your way, would you want more than casual dating? Or is this other dude just making you uncomfortable?
Answer those questions, but for now I'm going to say this. No, you aren't wrong for not going out and dating anyone else. But I'm going to recommend that you do that. I know you said thats not your style, but do yourself a favor and try. I honostly think, you might be coming across as desperate. (sorry ladies) but many girls get jealous very easily (goes for some guys too). Perhaps you need to show her that you won't be taken for granted. If she finds out you're dating someone else, she may realize that you're not going to be there for her everytime this other dude isn't.
I have honostly done this before. Taken another girl out on a casual date in order to gain more attention from another. The only thing you have to be careful of, is that you don't come across as you're not interested in her anymore. So make sure you call her and stuff. Don't take another girl out and expect the girl your currently dating to be all over you right away.
See, this girl is holding the winning hand. Even if one of you leaves she still has the other. Make her want you.
Just my thoughts from the info you gave me. Keep us up to date and some new info.

prostitutes have more self respekt than you since they actualy get paid. stop talkin down on prostitutes they are just tryin to make a decent livin. look at yourself bitch and clean those ball hairs out of your teeth.

1st off, I really dont believe prostitutes have self respect because they make money off of it. theres a reason it's called whoring yourself out.
Anyways, i ended up talking to her about it. Told her everything I thought. (namely i dont think that dating two people at once is a good idea, i was uncomfortable and the person she was dating besides me was an asshole.) i basically said she had to choose between me and him. She chose me. I was pretty happy, until tonight. So tonight she says that she still thinks it should still be an open relationship and pretty much what i said had no effect, it was just her getting uncomfortable dating two people at once. That led me to believe she doesnt think its a good idea either but then she started talking about how she still wanted it to be an open relationship. and being able to date multiple people at once is a "sign of maturity".
So what do you guys think about dating multiple people at once? Is it possible? A good idea? A "sign of maturity" (i think its the opposite actually)

You need to look at some other options. I kinda had the same situation back in Febuary. This chick started acting weird and I asked what was up...I got this lame excuse that I would be going off to school soon and that she didn't want to get attached. Natually I called her on her BS and she gave some other BS answers. Its funny cause now she is the one who messages me, asks how im doing and shit. Thing is, I still thing shes hella cool but im just playin it like I could care less, and in a way I really could care less but at the same time I do.
My suggestion is start looking for other girls and kind of blow this girl off. They seem to love that kinda thing. I mean dont be a jerk but at the same time just stay busy and become elusive, it will help your situation with her, if thats what you want.

I don't see how it's a "sign of maturity"... I have a friend who's dating a bunch of guys at the same time who insists that everyone should try it at least once. I'm not sold.
