yeah they also cost more, and i dont go crazy with jumping, i just keep breaking my xc bike i have now slowly. is it good for like someone who isnt doing 10 ft drops?
Ummm,,, No. Kona shreds are baddd. But depends what your doing. All i know s that as you get better the frame will snap indoubedently. I mean Kona generally has average-good bikes usually, but look at a stuff. I have that, its cracking, but i have put some huge abuse on it. Jea
the shred frame itself isint bad some of the components are not to great and there are definately better bikes out there for the money like a giant STP. now that i have said this i have a kona stuff with tons of upgrades so if ur willing to spend the money kona makes some solid bikes, but if ur just getting into this kinda biking i think there are some much better options
iv had the stuff for about 2years and i am loving it, they are sick bikes, iv abused mine quite a bit and iv had no problems,my frame handles 8 drops no prob
Silly you, the Scrap, Shred, and Suff all have exactly the same frame. Just different components. You should be fine with the Shred as long as you arn't into the big downhill. Or liek soem other guy said, Look into Giant. They're awesome.
i have an 04 shred. all the frames are the same (shred scrap stuff) but the stock components suck. i have upgraded everything and turned it into a singlespeed. via a surly singulator. if your going to get one expect to put more money into.
I've heard all good things about it...might not have the best componant set I've ever seen, but it should be good enough for what you want to do with it. And I think that I personally would trust a Kona frame more than a Giant frame(but STP's are sweet and a really good deal). I ride a Cannondale Chase but not many of the stock components are left...but I trust that frame so much...its taken quite the beating and it still in super good shape.
