Marching Band

so im in marching band and i know that in most states, or w/e, poeple think that marching band is gay but my town only goes to football games and stuff to see us. so anyway, i was wondering if any body else does it and if they know what their show will be for next year. we did "pirates of the carribean" 2 yrs ago and that sick. and we did "phantom of the opera" last yr which was pretty tight, so wat do you guys do?

I did it. It was ok, to be honest. I had some good times, but it just wasn't the music I enjoy playing. I play drum set, and that is what I have the most fun playing with my band(not marching band), and playing to music, like rush, the mars volta, primus. Anyways, I played drum set in the pit, which was good, but I would have appreciated playing something a little more exciting than paul simon.

I did!!! It was so much fun this year, our team when to a bunch of competitions cause we're pretty damn good. LOL What do you guys play? Where are you from??

i used to be in marching band, but i went to a small school and everyone was in it, it was more for the social time than anything else.

I admit, some band kids can be weird and fucking annoying, but there are some cool ones. You just have to look past the ones flaunting their bandiness in odd ways. With band, it's a lot of inside/sexual jokes.


Oh, and I played tenor sax too. Jeaaa.

I did a while back, it was alright. Not really my style of music and took up a lot of time just to get cussed out by the band teacher. Woo..yeah. If we didn't win, we were screwed, but we were pretty good so I guess it wasn't so bad. I dunno. I have mad respect for people who do it cause I know its hard.

All the stuff we played, somebody composed specifically for us. And the same people choreographed it.

yea i am, well actually we'r mainly a concert band, but we march for parades and stuff. i like it cuz we get to go outside to practice and class goes by faster

we played pirates of the caribbean for our concert last year

im the T-bone section leader this year im so stoked. our section is hella tight we go out for pizza before the games together its sweet. we do a different show for each home game. were playing a movie show with songs from batman and willy wonka. were doing a classic rock show with bohemian rhapsody and jethro tull. and were doing a show with all paul simon songs. and one other show i forget what the theme is. and then the seniors get to make a show and write drill for the last home game. our band is the biggest in our conference and we kick ass.

next year i'm the low winds section leader, i play bari sax. i hate parades, but i love the football shows we do. we did styx 2 years ago that kicked ass. maybe we should start a bando cult?

I was in band. I hated everyone in it. They were all so into band and when I had to miss band for a golf tournament the director almost shit his pants. I was only in it a year and a half. We did Gladiator the one year and Styx the other.

And to the kid that said people go to games to watch the band. You're kidding yourself. Nobody does that until college and even then only in the south where they have those sweet drumlines.

have you heard of Grand Haven, MI football?! it hink not. so no, im not kidding myself. the vendors would alwyas give us free pizza and shit. pretty cool

anyways, band camp is so much fun. all the work sucks but everybody is constatnly pulling pranks on each other, that and people alwyas bring weed or a ton of booze

I did marching band freshman year, and it was the worst experience of my life. First off all of the kids in the band (not to metion the flagets) were all ugly as shit and were all really weird. I also ran cross country so i would miss a lot of rehersals and everyone in the band would yell at me, so i basicly told them all to go fuck themselves.
