A bill is being voted on on Friday to allow telecom companies to charge money for more or less access. Essentially sites will load with varyiing sped depedning on how much they have paid for access. The more money you have the faster your site loads.. or maybe your site doesn't load at all. It essentialy creates a for-pay fast lane and a slow lane for free. Additionally it stops local government from setting their own high speed internet services for low-income or unserved communities to protect telecom profits.
think about the videos and the pictures on this site and howmuch they get used...all you would be albe to look at for sites would be huge corperate shit like MTV.com and microsoft.com
