I was think the EXACT same thing. Everytime and Italian hit the ground it would always involve grabbing a body part with some kind of painful grimace (for entirely way too long). And then get up and be perfectly fine.
they ectaully dont act like they broke their leg...they go down...are in pain....the trainers are hired to get them off the field as fast as possible...IE...stretcher...they get off the field...get of the stretcher...stretch...back on...i dont see anything wrong with that
i think the ref didnt remember at first that pope had a yellow, and when the second one came up it was to late for the ref to just talk to him instead. anyhow it was a bad call and destroyed the game! but usa was amazing, they were so close to taking italy down! hopefully usa will go on to the playoffs
well, every team does this, or atleast they exaggerate the tackle to make the ref notice it. i think there's nothing wrong with that as long as you don't take it to far, like italy does alot. after a certain point it's just destroying the game.
Almost every Euro team is very skilled at taking dives, whereas the teams from N. and S. America and Africa usually just play soccer. In Europe you have to be as good an actor as a soccer player to get on the field.
new rule this year, if a player goes down and wont get up its the refs call wether to have the stretcher brought out or not, once the ref calls for the stretcher the player must leave the field on the stretcher and get the refs permission to reenter the game. For the most part the players go down in hopes of drawing a foul, its all part of the game of soccer, gay, yes, but still a part of the game
oh yea, and italy isnt the only team to take dives, every team does it, maybe the italians do it more than others, but thats their style of play, they arent as physical as other teams so they need some way of equalling the playing field. and i agree with whoever said that european teams are more into diving then teams from africa and south america, european teams, again, arent as physical as the rest of the teams so they need to find some way to get back into the game, and diving works, it helps them keep the pace they want to play the game at
So after watching the Portugal-Iran match I'm forced to conclude that Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't know how to play football. I mean at a basic level. He seems to think that the point of the game, rather than putting the ball in the net, is to do as much crazy, impossible shit as 90 minutes allows, and make everyone else look silly and pedestrian.
Not the demolition job that I hoped for, but at least brazil won! Why did they have to make it look difficult though!? if Kewell could shoot it would have been a very different story!!
wtf, potugal has a great team, not just figo and cristiano ronaldo.
but all the great teams this year, Brazil, France, Italy etc, has not impressed they just do exactly as much as they have to, it's pretty boring i think. i want to see some pwnage
I am soooooooooo mad. 2-1, and they dominated the game except for that fucking lame defense play when the koreans scored... They should have had it, and i'm about to punch something because i am fucking pissed off
i agree. the refs need to look at the instant replay. either that or don't show us the instant replay cause it pisses me off so much seeing how bad calls can decifer the winner, instead of just playing .
