Computer wont play sounds

whenever i listen to intunes or anything else that has sound, my comp plays nothing. ive plugged in my speakers numerous times and ive just tried my headphones. i adjusted the system volume in the control panel and it still doesnt work. anyone who knows alot about comps kno why this is happening??

umm im not sure if this is onboard audio, but on the bottom right hand of your screen, (on the taskbar) you should see a little image that looks like a speaker/megaphone thing..its grey..double click on that and see if you are muting anything by accident

if your speakers are off and none of the toher things work that people have suggested i suggest trying to find the drivers for your sound card tahts my problem.. but the thing is ai cant find any for my computer so i'm kinda fucked and i need to get a new soundcard

Go to Control Panel, then System, then click the tab called Hardware. Click "Device Manager" and it should list all the components of your computer. There should be something about a sound card, probbly sound, video and game controllers. Click that, then examine the list. If any of the things have a question mark next to them or look different somehow, click on it and try to enable it somehow.
