The first jam of the season went ok. Despite the fact that it rained for the entire night we still had about 20 people show up. At least the rain kept the carpet sliding good!
props on tonite chris, always a good time...hopefully next time the weather will cooperate and we'll have a little more snow available. still lots of fun regardless
Is there a particular day of the week or time of the day that is better for most people? At this time I am thinking every other Sunday for the summer, but can adjust if nec.
Sorry for the hassle everyone! We had to work triples again today. I was done and back from my second one around 4:30, then I got called out on the third and did not get off the river until after 7. I should have known better then to try and plan something around the 4th.
The rail jam yesterday went pretty well. We had about 15 people show up over the evening. Not the largest, but not bad for this time of the year. Thanks to Dan and Kate for bringing some food along!
This Sunday's rail jam should have some of the best weather we have had for a jam this year. Hopefully snow will be a good possibility for the box ramp. See you around 6pm everyone.
so, while i was driving up on sunday, i got a 200 dollar ticket. added to the other shit i got, i have to pay around 800 bucks by september 1st. which is gonna suck for my season.
but i wanted to ask what you used to cut formica with? a circular saw with the blade reversed?
It was a great time tonight! One of the best turn-out's yet!! Thanks to Papasteze and Nippes for providing a lot of the food and drink. Thanks to Jake, Hammil and Justo for bringing the snow. Thanks to Jake for bringing the sound system. We had about 4 cameras taking tons of video, so look for some of that soon.
We will be having a few more before the snow season starts, so keep your eyes on this cult.
Super sorry guys, we had some video issues and some of us were out of town last week. The runs that won were ones that were technically perfect. There were certainly some style involved too. After hours and hours of reviwing the tapes we have decided on the following winners:
BEST RUN, SKIER - KT's 1st run (270 on to box, 180 @ the kink, switch off)
BEST RUN, SNOWBOARDER - Frank's 2nd run (270 on to rail, backside boardslide)
BEST CRASH, SKIER - Shadow's 2nd run
BEST CRASH, SNOWBOARDER - Ceycow's 2md run
The best runs get a season pass to Mountain Creek, and the best crashes get a free entry to an on-mountain event.
Please have the winners contact me with all of their info and we will get the prizes over to them.
Film of the event is being edited and should be ready by next weekend.
Ok, so we are still working on the HD video. It should be done by early next week. In the meantime here is the stationary camera edit. It is at a lower res, so it is easier to get out on the internet.
I have someone that has some chips to donate. Unfortuntately he does not have a truck to bring them over. If anyone has a pick-up that we can use to transport these chips it would help out a lot!
I just talked to the guy again, he said it is like a small dump truck loads worth. So it will probably take a couple of trips with a pick-up. He is in Palmerton so it is not a far ride between the 2 places.
BMTROUBLEMAKER (thanks K) and I added 3 pick-up loads of chips to the park today thanks to Joe P. We still have like 2-4 more loads "promised" to us. Hopefully that will be enough to get things started.
I am thinking about 5/20 as the opening jam for this season. Let me know how that works for everyone.
