i mite be rong but some parts of the world will be affected in a way where the skiing will be way better...like the air currents will change from the cold ice water goin into the ocean and that cold air will cause more snow in some areas

say goodbye to urban skiing.....its rediculous how much waste is put into our atmosphere and water. just complete ignorance and greed. basically theres 2 theories with global warming and thats that increasing co2 and warming the earth could cause more freshwater into currents and send us into an iceage quicker or more co2 and warmth can not do that and just heat the fuckin shit outta our planet and never ski again and ruin everything good on earth. i wish the answer was number 1 but i am more convinced than ever that it is dreadful number 2

last year was just a warm year, global warming would not be that drastic in one part of the country that quickly, it would be more steady and spread out.
so yes there will be global warming eventually how soon i dont know im not pro.
also, the earth's warmth and weather condtions are basically a sin curve so the earths temp rises and falls over large periods of times, so there are recessions of temp and rises in temp... thats not to say that there isnt global warming. europe has affects, and i think ak does too, and so do antartica.
but i like to beleive that were in a rise and in 5, 10 or 20 years well have a few years of cold. i read the weather in the newspaper everyday, and things seem to remain about the same and stay characteristic for this time of year.
i love on the ocean, and weve had no warmer than average temps (maybe because of the hurrican season but thats expected) and no rise in water level due to the melting of polar ice caps.
so beleive what u want, but i like to think we wont have bad global warming effects for a bunch of years (i hope at least 20 years) but im no pro at this so.... hey its my opinion

Global warming is happening.. just very slowly. It is likely none of us will ever see its true effects. However, global warming will infact result in an ice age. The warming will melt ice in the polar caps, releasing drastic amounts of fresh water into our oceans. This will inturn shut down the ocean currents and their ability to carry warm water north and cold water south which regulates the earths temps. The amount of salt in the ocean is very important because it allows warmer and colder water to rise and fall, thus making the currents that bring warm water north. Global warming will make it hot, then cold. But.. this is a long long ways away.

yea thats what i was trying to say. global warming slowly happens, and it really just make the climate mroe drastic rather than just warmer. i guess no one read what i said tho

It is not happening slowly for your information. In 10 years we have risen 1 degree in average global temperature. The difference between an ice age and an interglacial period is 5 degrees. So, in 10 yeas we have progressed 20% fo what it takes to cause an ice age. I don't think that is very slowly considering the last iceage lasted 100,000 years. We will and are seeing effects of global warming right now. In 50 years time, it is predicted that the earth with be, on average, 5 degrees celcius warmer than it is now. That would produce drastic changes in the erath's climate, and is definitely within out lifetime. It is opinions like yours that add to the problem of pure ignorance for the majority of society on how they are affecting global warming. It is a huge problem that if it is not addressed now, will be a much much bigger problem within our lifetimes.
I could go into all the specifics in how we are seeing the effects now, but I don't want to bore you. It is sad to watch the paradise that God has built for us be wasted away.

One positive and one negative come out of all this.
Negative= By 2100 the sea level will have risen by 90cm so reducing land mass, causing coastal towns to dramatically change/totally vanish and leaving the huge population (Twice what it is now) having incredible living hardships and famine due to much less land for farming and limited natural resources. These will be *your* children.
Positive= Due to the enevitable destruction of the trade currents from the Carribean bringing warm air and water from the equator to europe. Countries like Britain will be as cold as The northern tips of Norway and Sweden! YYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Powder skiing in The Peak District!

its annoying how ignorant people are about this problem...just because your not seeing any direct result from it yourselves doenst mean its happening..if your not worried about the ozone layer then atleast worry about the fuel situation...either way the world is in trouble...vermont is supposed to look like virginia in what could be as little as 50 years...ive been to virginia and theres no way i would ever trade climates with that state

you are so fucking ignorant

Yes, the last decade has been 1 degree warmer, however, this could also just be a temprature flucuation. From decade to decade, even year to year, tempratures tend to flucuate. To get a more accurate picture of how much temprature has actually changed you would need a much larger sample. The media uses the 1 degree in the last year to help heighten awareness. Yes its happening. but we must look at the whole picture. Think of how much you waist personally per week. Everything you by is wraped in plastic, which is a processed oil.. the process takes energy, trucks to deliver, ect. Its much more than a vehicle problem. Its a consumption problem. Turn off lights, carpool, get paper bas instead of plastic, recycle your plastic. Lots of things can be done, the simple fact is a small percent of the population is willing to try.

global warming will due more then just melt snow it will make it easier for deases caring insects to reach north america because of warm air temps.spreading deases like malara, west nile viruse,...... Also the glaciers melting will increase sea levels be 20ft flooding major cities like new york maybe boston. Snowpack in aspen will decrease by 30% and californa's will decrease by 89%. so lets see aspen gets 450 inches a year this leaves them with 150 inches a year and way less in califorina. Guys these a just some of the effects in the future even no were not experancing them now. so get all the skiing u can i now .

yeah... im paranoid because i like skiing and would like further generations to be able to enjoy it also, I dont know about you but forcing future generations (and possibly us) to ski in snow domes, only on man made snow or carpet because of our mistakes doesnt sound too inviting to me. If population charts are true and global warming will increase with population and use of resources then we are screwed. The temperature increase of 1.1, or 1.5 degrees fahrenheit over the last century will get bigger and bigger over the next few centurys. the predicted snowpack decline in colorado is could be as much as 30% by 2069! thats alot and it will only get bigger. In 2099 the california snowpack could be down as much as 89%!!!!! thas pretty crazy. Also, if temperatures are going up then it will be harder for ski resorts to blow snow, because of heightened temperatures. It must be 32 degrees farenheit or below to blow snow, so if the temperature is above that then we will have even less snow. I may be wrong, but it might just be a good idea to take care of your enviorment rather then just saying forget about it, Its wont happen to us.

dude if u look at weather patterns all this stuff has happened b4, did u know in 1899 before the indusrial revolution and cars, there was an extreme cold where below 0 temperature were recorded as far south as the panhandle of florda, Weather is fucked up its not all global warming, and u know global warming will make the earth colder right only warmer for now, then it will creat and ice age

the "1 degree farenheit" fact does not do the true nature of the problem justice. We are in a period of global climate change, where some places are experiencing much hotter climates, some are experiencing colder weather, and others aren't getting much of a change at all on the short term basis. This does not disprove global warming in the least, these localized tumultous weather patterns help prove the theory if anything. Anyone who blows off global warming is a complete idiot. The temperature has already started to increase and it will continue to rise across the planet over time as more fossil fuel emmissions are spewed into the atmosphere. The small local weather patterns that aren't getting drastically warmer are not argument against the theory at all.

in a ski canada about a year ago there was an article discussing global warming. It showed a glacier in 1076 and then one in 2004. The difference was starteling. There were a couple rocks in the first picture but in the second it was covered in rocks. only a thin strip which is skiable compared to the open area. This really opened my eyes to the seriousness of the problem. WE NEED TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING

This kid is pretty much the only one who knows what he's talking about. And I dont believe that co2 from our cars contributes that much to global warming considering the enormous amounts of co2 that have been released by volcanoes causing no real effects.

isn't it Weird that SCIENTISTS virtually unanimously agree that we are undergoing a global warming trend, and that the majority of SCIENTISTS agree that the effects of humans since the industrial revolution are huge contributers to this trend...fucking SCIENTISTS? WEIRD...
it's also Weird that the majority of people who claim that global warming is a MYTH, or assert that it may exist but it is natural and we have done nothing to contribute to it, are generally LARGE BUISINESS OWNERS, POLITICIANS, simply uneducated, or other people who stand to lose if we take neccessary measures to prevent human contribution to global warming...
fucking WEIRD...who do you trust?

a picture of a glacier from 1076. thats impressive. that commercial said that this has been the warmest decade in the millenium, but we have only been recording global temperature trends for a little over a hundred years. hmmm...

FACT: The earth is variable. The western Arctic may be getting somewhat warmer, due to unrelated cyclic events in the Pacific Ocean, but the Eastern Arctic and Greenland are getting colder. The small Palmer Peninsula of Antarctica is getting warmer, while the main Antarctic continent is actually cooling. Ice thicknesses are increasing both on Greenland and in Antarctica.
Sea level monitoring in the Pacific (Tuvalu) and Indian Oceans (Maldives) has shown no sign of any sea level rise.

You are a fucking stupid tool....get President Bush's dick out of your mouth and open your eyes. If you lived anywhere near a glacier, tundra......or just natural snow....you would see it. Not just the past few years.....the past 20 years there has been a larger effect on permafrost, and natural snow conditions, etc. Look at Whilster's natural snow conditions.....the Pemburton Glacier.....dude it is there.
This is like saying.....lets poor acid on to our front lawn.....down worry about it...nothing will happen right away. Soo fucking ignorant and lazy.
