I am sure this is a hot topic in here.. but im too goddamn lazy to use the search bar.. so someone help me out, i am using iMovie and Final Cut, and my movies are coming out looking like shit. how can i make the compression treat them better?

export them as mp4's using the h264 codec, they will be small, and very high quality

do exactly what he said^ but then do a little more. you should also play with the settings within the codec you are going to use. you can mess with the frame rate and everything depending on how you want to put your video out there.
