Replying to Line is NOT a sellout, but come on...
i don't consider line a sellout for selling to k2. ok, maybe they did 'sell out', but based on what i've know from very reliable folks, it was either sell out and keep the name Line in existence and producing skis, or straight up go out of business, no more line, no nothing.
What i do think was super fucking gay, was the fact that they dropped their whole team, which was blatently due to their innability to support all but a couple athletes...i understand that they had to do this...but what the fuck Jay? you told us it was because 'Line and these athletes just had different agendas, different focuses, and their futures just weren't lined up with one anothers' I knew at the time why they really did it, but many people didn't and just thought that Line was fucking gay cause they dropped their favorite riders (dash, coker, etc).
I think line would have seen alot more consumer support if Jay had been up front, because I know I wouldn't want to see one of the companies that was a huge part of the new school revolution and first rider owned ski companies go out of business because they lost alot of money investing into what could have potentially been a epic innovation for our sport (i've blown out both knees, and would have loved to seen the reactor work well) I mean shit, even though i didn't like their skis that much, if they said that they were in serious financial troubles due to pouring money into trying to make a great innovation in the industry (reactor, I would have felt they deserved props and support for going out on a limb like that, and maybe bought a pair of their skis if i was in the market for a new pair.
maybe they were in over their heads regardless, but i think the bullshit reasons they gave for dropping their team cost them more business than if they were up front about their problems.
