hey. im going to buy a japanese version of PS2. its a lot cheaper, and does the same thing. do i need a special power cord adapter or anything? japan runs on DC current, and we run on AC i think. or vice versa. so would i need to go out and buy a new cord so i can play it?

you'll need a dc-ac converter. I think they run about ~$60. Then you'll need a mod chip (which will void your warranty) to play U.S games, plus you won't be able to play american DVD's on it because it's a different region.

When you add it all up, it's not really worth the trouble...

Its not the best idea to get japanese game systems. Most ppl who buy that stuff are the ppl who have to have games early and shit.

u might need a power adapter...u know how in the US one prong is bigger that the other on a power cord...in japan they're both small...it works, but it might not be safe..I have a Super Famicom, ya nobodys heard of it, but its basically just a super nintendo that I got from japan

you need to bbuy japanese games for it too work cause my dad went to japan and bought some games for me and they dont work unless u have a japanese ps2. u would only do it if u want to import all of your games which costs a lot of money
