Question for computer-people

okay, well i plan on buying a new 120gb hard drive http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5566988&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat33200050001&id=1055388011277) and i was wondering.. is it possible to install mac os on it instead of windows? like i have an old dell computer (dimension xps t450, at least5 years old).

also, i have an old hard drive from it that i recently formatted, but it only has 60gb or something close to that and i know that its not enough room for basically anyting. i was planning on having 2 hard drives for this computer.

so if you know anything on this topic, could you please help me?

You should just upgrade to a new dell or Mac, considering if is 5 years old. If not i dont belive dell has the cability of running a Mac operating system or vise versa.

yeah, but this hard drive's only 60 bucks.. an whole new computer is well over 200...

and if it cant run on this old computer, i'll just add it onto my current computer, for more memory

yo dont buy it off fucking best-gay buy it from newegg.com comon mang u gotta think more clearly than that

u want to get a harddrive with at least 8mb cache, the 2mb caches are mad slow and make sur u get at least pc3200 DDR ram cuz anything lower is gay, 7200rmp if not 10000 rpm but those r more expensive



dont ask me how i know this my friends say its from all the blunts i smoked cuz it makes me more creative u know

you can't install mac osx on a pc.

running two harddrives in a computer is fine. use one as your boot drive and the other one for storage.

i had a 20 gb harddrive and i delt. 60 is alot. i have 120 now though.

i know this, but i was wondering if you could install mac osx on a blank hard drive

1) wasnt planning on buying online (i was gonna go to the store)

2) the driver in the link had 8mb cache, and 7200rpm

3) i dont think creativity has anything to do with your post, but thanks for the info anyways

its is possible to get mac onto a windows computer, bloody hard tho, start googling.
u can now run windows on all the new intel macs. bu the mac osx operating system is made solely for use on mac hardware, there are safeguards and shit to stop u putting it on just any old hardware, but windows u can install on nearly anything, and now macs officially can boot windows.

do ur self a favour and ditch windows, buy a mac, install windows on it so that when u really need to u can use windows but use OSX mainly, soooo much better, its not some shitty operating system thats based on an OS from the mid 90s

yeah i think the processors in the pc's are not compatible with mac os.....there is some kinda different memory pattern used. so i don't think you can do it.....but i knwo you can put mac os x on your x box!
